How to be regular in Salaat?
#1

Salaam,

I wanna be a good Muslim NOT just by my thoughts and theories (as iam naturally good in theories ).

I've tried a bit but i don't find myself getting up with a determination to perform Salaat (I know I know I am such a sinner). I am REALLY ashamed of myself because of it !

One of our very close relatives died a month ago ! It had a BIG impact on my life, I do think of death more often & wanna be a Muslim & do whatever it takes to be included among the blessed people (as it[s every Muslims' dream ).

Salaat is the biggest problem for me so far !

Can anyone tell me ways that I can be regular in prayers....because I've heard that when u die, u r questioned abnout ur Salat the FIRST thing !

Any comments & help will be appreciated

I am sure others have good advice so I will keep mine brief.

Ask Allah. Ask Him with true sincerity like your being depends upon it because it does.

Allah is Al-Mujeeb. He Answers those who ask.

Shereen, Dan is correct , if u need help in anything just ask Allah to strengthen u, and I would like to add here that u should think that Salat first is an order from Allah(SWT) and if we love Allah we will obey him, second when praying u must think that there will be communication between u and Allah(SWT) when praying, so think would u like to miss that, do u like to miss talking to Allah(SWT) especially when u r in sojood, in sojood we are so close to Allah(SWT) so that we can ask him anything we want, so y don't u make "salat Haja" 2 rak3a and ask him while in sojood to guide u and strengthen your eman.

And remember, that Allah(SWT) will accept from u your prayers, and the more u ask His nearness the closer He will be to u.

I also try to remember that I am actually bowing and prostrating to the Creator of Everything. That's very powerful for me. Some humans actually bow and prostrate to one another. In Japan, everyone bows to everyone else. Subhanallah. We get to bow and prostrate and actually recieve rewards for it, not just a sore back and calloused forehead. What a blessing that we muslims get.

I try to think of fard actions not as oppressive or intrusive but rather they are sooo good for us that Allah had the Mercy upon us to require it. Look at school when we were growing up. If my mother asked me if I wanted to stay home from school everyday, I would have answered, "YES!" But she made me go, day after day, year after year. Most of the time, it felt like a chore. As I got older I enjoyed it more because I started to realize the benefit from it. If my mother had never "forced" me to go to school, I would never have understood how fun and stimulating learning could be. Allah "Forces" us to pray because it is soooooooooo good for us. Insha'Allah, the more we pray the more we will realize how truly good for us it is.

Allah Loves us and Salah is a way for us to show Allah how much we appreciate and love Him, too. Insha'Allah this helps because it is helping my iman.
