Well the question is important enough

Question #45645: A realistic look at marriage to women of the People of the Book

the whole answer can be found here, http://63.175.194.25/index.php?ln=eng&ds=q...browse&QR=45645

Although we say that it is permissible, and we do not doubt that there is a clear text concerning that, nevertheless we do not think that a Muslim should marry a kitaabi woman (a woman of the people of the Book), for several reasons:

1 – One of the conditions of marriage to a kitaabi woman is that she should be chaste, but there are very few chaste women to be found in those environments.

2 – One of the conditions of marriage to a kitaabi woman is that the Muslim man should be in charge of the family. But what happens nowadays in that those who marry women from kaafir countries marry them under their laws, and there is a great deal of injustice in their systems. They do not recognize a Muslim’s authority over his wife and children, and if the wife gets angry with her husband she will destroy his household and take the children away, with the support of the laws of her land and with the help of their embassies in most countries. It is no secret that the Muslim countries have no power to resist the pressure of those countries and their embassies.

3 – The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) encouraged us to look for Muslim wives who are religiously committed. If a woman is Muslim but is not religiously committed and of good character, then the Muslim is not encouraged to marry her, because marriage is not simply the matter of physical enjoyment only, rather it is the matter of Allaah’s rights and the spouse’s rights, and preserving his household, his honour and his wealth, and bringing up his children. How can a man who marries a kitaabi woman be certain that his sons and daughters will be raised according to Islam when he is leaving them in the hands of this mother who does not believe in Allaah and associates others with Him?

Hence even though we say that it is permissible to marry a kitaabi woman, it is not encouraged and we do not advise it, because of the negative consequences that result from that. The wise Muslim should choose the best woman to bear his children and think in the long term about his children and their religious upbringing. He should not let his desire or worldly interests or transient outward beauty blind him to reality; true beauty is the beauty of religious commitment and good morals.

He should realize that if he forsakes these type of women for the sake of that which is better for his religious commitment and that of his children, Allaah will compensate him with something better, because “Whoever gives up something for the sake of Allaah, Allaah will compensate him with something better than that, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) told us, the one who speaks the truth and does not speak of his own whims and desires. Allaah is the source of strength and the One Who guides to the Straight Path.

Question #2527: Who are the women of the People of the Book whom Muslims are permitted to marry? The answer:

http://63.175.194.25/index.php?ln=eng&QR=2527

About Shirk.

This verse states the Muslim belief:

''Say: He is Allah, the One and Only;

Allah, the Eternal, Absolute;

He begetteth not, nor is He begotten;

And there is none like unto Him. ''

The Qur'an 112:1-4

Christianity do look upon God as a tri-unity, and since Isa, pbuh, is one of these units, but at the same time separated from the Godhead when 'being in flesh', he is still a part of it, therefore worshipping him is like worshipping a second God. One unseen and one seen. And many Christians do, when in distress, utter 'Jesus!' instead of 'God!' so it is like two gods. 'Jesus!' seems to be closer somehow. There is more to say, but will leave it to that.

Quote: Surely those who believe, and those who are Jews, and the Christians, and the Sabians, whoever believes in Allah and the Last day and does good, they shall have their reward from their Lord, and there is no fear for them, nor shall they grieve. Surah 2:62

Muslim posters on this website claim that the above passage does not apply to modern day christians, since today's christians consider Jesus to be God.

How about modern day Jews? The Jewish religion has remained unchanged for many thousands of years. I assume, then, that modern day Jews who believe in God and do good works end up in heaven? If not, then why not?

Peace reepi

'And the Jews say: "Ezra is the son of Allah," and the Christians say: "the Messiah is the son of Allah." That is a saying from their mouths. They imitate the saying of the disbelievers of old. Allah's Curse be on them, how they are deluded away from the truth" (Quran 9:30)

According to the Jewish dogma, they claim also a son to Allah who is Ezra. Based on this, they also just as the Nasarah (christians) ascribed a son to Allah. Thus, in brief, very brief and to the point. Any of those categories, who repents and belives in Allah the way it should be, as being One with no partners or associates, no sons or daughters, not made of parts, then shall benefit of the Ayah. Other wise, if one remains on the same dogma and belief till death, then I am sorry for him/her.

> 'And the Jews say: "Ezra is the son of Allah,"

You are claiming that Jews believe that Ezra is God?????

Nonsense. Pure nonsense.

Where in the Old Testament is this written?

If the Koran states that Jews worship Ezra, then the Koran is wrong.

reepi Sobhan Allah, this is English typed here. The sentence is so clear.

'Ezra is the son of Allah" which means they also take associates, claim son to Allah.

This is English. How can I explain better????

Just because the Koran states that Jews worship Ezra does NOT make the statement true.

Do a search of the web. You will discover that no one, other than some Muslims, believe this claim.

There is no historical evidence of any sort which supports the Muslim claim that Jews worship Ezra. None whatsoever.

This is enough for muslims to make the statement true, and I think you ask about the muslims opinion.

All muslims believe this claim,if you know some muslims do`nt believe this claim, they may be ignorant or not real muslims.

Actually I am not sure if this statement is correct or not,but I know that muslims do`nt need any historical evidence to confirm the God words.

Return to the first question

"How about modern day Jews? The Jewish religion has remained unchanged for many thousands of years. I assume, then, that modern day Jews who believe in God and do good works end up in heaven? If not, then why not"

Yes,they will end up in heaven if they follow the messenger, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find mentioned in their own (scriptures),that is mean

if they embraced Islam.

I think it is a time for every one to ensure that he is going right considering his belief.

Subhan Allah, when it comes to The Holy Quran, The True Word of Allah, statements are not true, but when it comes to The Bible, then everything in it is true.

First we as muslims before searching as brother said, whatever Allah says in The Holy Quran, we beleive it we do not go questioning and asking why, just like the jews did with Moses(PBUH).

Second, to clear this matter according to Ibn Katheer, Qurtobi and Tabari translation and as translated to us by Azharete scholar sheikh Sayed Noah, in this verse of The Quran Allah(SWT), is saying that after the death of Moses, when the jews made mischief and killed many prophets sent by Allah(SWT) to them, Allah(SWT) wanted to punish them, The Torah was erased from their hearts, and Nebuchadnezzer envaded their homes and killed their scholars and enslaved the elderly and respectful people among them, and burned the Torah, but some scholars escaped with copies of the Torah where they burried it in the mountins, and also it was raised in a coffin after the death of Moses(PBUH) with some of his belongings.

Bismillah Al-Rahman Al-Raheem:

248. And their Prophet (Samuel) said to them: Verily! The sign of His Kingdom is that there shall come to you At-Tâbût (a wooden box), wherein is Sakinah (peace and reassurance) from your Lord and a remnant of that which Musâ (Moses) and Hârûn (Aaron) left behind, carried by the angels. Verily, in this is a sign for you if you are indeed believers.
2- Surat Al-Baqarah

Now Ezra escaped the masacre done by Nebuchadnezzer, Ezra kept weeping that the scholars are dead and the The Torah and its teachings is lost, he kept crying until his eyelashes fell, and while he was weeping he passed by a woman on a grave crying" Oh u who feed me, Oh u who attire me. So he told her: behold woman, who used to feed u before who used to attire u? She said Allah, so he told her then Allah is The Eternal He does not die. So she told him Ezra who used to teach the scholars before their death? he said Allah. she said then why are u crying on them Allah is The Teacher. Here he realised that this was a lesson to him, then he was ordered o go to a river to wash and to pray 2 rakh'as, then he was told that he will find there a scholar, eat whatever he feeds u. So he did what he was ordered, then he returned being the most knowledgable scholar and The Torah was enscribed in his heart, he returned to the jews and told them that he came back with The Torah, they told him we never thought that u were a liar, so he had pens tied to his fingers and wrote the whole Torah. When the enemy left and the escaped scholars came back, the jews told them of Ezra, they went to the buried copies and found them, and compared them to the one with Ezra they found it the same, <b>so a group of the jews, the ignorant ones</b> of them said that this thing will not happen to him unless he is son of Allah, and they said that after the nasarah(christians) said about jesus that he is the son of Allah copying them, so in this ayah Allah(SWT) is condemning that group of jews and who said that Ezra is the son of Allah, as well as the christians who said that jesus is son of Allah, and not all of them, in many verses of The holy Quran, u find that Allah (SWT) never said that all jews and christians are Kuffar, becasue He is The All-Knowing, that many of them are good people, and many will embrace islam. But those who follow their rabbi's and bishop's who say false things about Allah(SWT) for money and worldly gains, then they ascribed with Allah companions, becasue they permitted what Allah(SWT) forbidden and forbid what Allah(SWT) permitted.

Bismillah Al-Rahman Al-Raheem:

77. Know they (Jews) not that Allâh knows what they conceal and what they reveal?

78. And there are among them (Jews) unlettered people, who know not the Book, but they trust upon false desires and they but guess.

79. Then woe to those who write the Book with their own hands and then say, "This is from Allâh," to purchase with it a little price! Woe to them for what their hands have written and woe to them for that they earn thereby. 2, Surat Al-Baqara

This is the explanation of why jews said Ezra is the son of Allah, those who said it are dead from that time, just like those who were turned to pigs and monkeys, some will think that the jews living now are descendants of those, no they are not becasue they were transformed and killed, becasue of The Wrath of Allah upon them.

Bismillah Al-Rahman Al-Raheem:

65. And indeed you knew those amongst you who transgressed in the matter of the Sabbath (i.e. Saturday). We said to them: "Be you monkeys, despised and rejected."

66. So We made this punishment an example to their own and to succeeding generations and a lesson to those who are Al-Muttaqûn (the pious - see V.2:2). 2, Surat Al-Baqarah

May Allah(SWT) accept from me, forgive my shortcomings and mistakes, if I am right from Allah(SWT) if I am wrong from myself and shaytan.

<b>Bismillah Al-Rahman Al-Raheem:</b>

<b>64. Say (O Muhammad ): "O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians): Come to a word that is just between us and you, that we worship none but Allâh, and that we associate no partners with Him, and that none of us shall take others as lords besides Allâh. Then, if they turn away, say: "Bear witness that we are Muslims."</b>

65. O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians)! Why do you dispute about Ibrâhim (Abraham), while the Taurât (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel) were not revealed till after him? Have you then no sense?

66. Verily, you are those who have disputed about that of which you have knowledge. Why do you then dispute concerning that which you have no knowledge? It is Allâh Who knows, and you know not.

67. Ibrâhim (Abraham) was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was a true Muslim Hanifa (Islâmic Monotheism - to worship none but Allâh Alone) and he was not of Al-Mushrikûn (See V.2:105). 3, Surat Al-Imran

Jazakum Allah khairan Rock and Radiyah

Actually I fully agree with what Rock typed, when the Quran say something, we dont need to verify it.

As Radiya gave you full explanation from Tafseer Quran, which is actually a miracle on its own. That the Quran mentioned an incident that most jews are not aware of. BTW Radiyah and Rock, many of the modern Jews are not aware of this. I did talk to a number of Jews regarding this point.

However, just to complete this subject, just as Radiyah explained the matter from and Islamic perspective. But before I add to my brothers and sisters work, let me tell you reepi that actually this Ayah i quoted is a miracle in Quran. You said you never came accross anyone or anythin in scripture that proves this:

Allah Say:

"And the Jews say: "Ezra is the son of Allah," and the Christians say: "the Messiah is the son of Allah." That is a saying from their mouths. They imitate the saying of the disbelievers of old. Allah's Curse be on them, how they are deluded away from the truth!" (Quran 9:30)

As you clearly see, the Ayah states that this is what they say by their mouths meaning that this was not contained in their books. Matter of fact, as you will read in the article, this stands as a miracle in the Quran to introduce unkown facts about Jews which were known only to a group of certain people in Yemen.

For more info on this point, from a jewish viewpoint :

http://www.jews-for-allah.org/jewis...-called-son.htm

The article contains paragraphs from Encyclopaedia Judaica

Enjoy yourself verifying as for us, we as Rock said, didnt need to do so, however, was a good excercise.

Quote:Surely those who believe, and those who are Jews, and the Christians, and the Sabians, whoever believes in Allah and the Last day and does good, they shall have their reward from their Lord, and there is no fear for them, nor shall they grieve. Surah 2:62

OK, let's summarize the Muslim position on this verse.

1) The above verse does not apply to Christians who consider Jesus to be God.

2) The above verse does not apply to Jews who consider Ezra to be God.

QUESTIONS:

Q1: Modern day Mormons and Jehovah Witnesses do not consider Jesus to be God. Does the above verse, then, apply to them? Will Mormons and Jehovah Witnesses who believe in God and the Last Day, and who do good works, be saved?

Q2: Lets assume, for the sake of argument, that at one time there was a tiny group of Jews in Yemen who worshiped Ezra. Obviously, they were just a tiny minority of the Jews, and no Jews today still follow this belief. Do Muslims believe, then, that all Jews who don't worship Ezra, who believe in God and the Last Day, and who do good works will be saved?
