#41

Alhamdulilah I am pleased to let you all know, that I've learned that there is no such thing as "angels making babies smile". I've done a bit of searching for answers on this and I asked my cousin who is a Hafiz of the whole Quraan to look in the quraan and show me anything that supports this, He said no. Nor in a hadith. So it's fair to say that this is just (something that people have invented themselves).

Does anyone know any hadith that clearly describes the Size of Angel Gabriel (ra)?

I have once heard that one of the feathers of his wings is big enough to cover the whole world. InshaAllah if anybody knows more on this tell me, Jezekelah khayran.

I aagree with u about the babies seeing angels intuition, I asked the scholar he said " I do not know there is no hadeeth of such a thing, but I can say one thing that babies see things we do not see" those were the words of the scholar. Wallah Subhanahu Wa Ta'la 'Alam.

and about Gabriel yes the scholar told us such a thing but he said one wing of his not one feather, and i do not remember the hadeeth right now, well let us make a new reasearch for that also.

About what the scholar said of how babies may see things we dont know, wallah a`lam, I think he is referring to the hadeeth of Hanzalh. I am sure most of u know it. But no harm, hanzla was in the market crying to himself saying Hanzlah became a hypocrite. Abu Bakr met him and asked him what is happening. He said when I am at the Messenger's SAW learning with him I feel a special spiritual status, when I go home play with my children and touch women I loose it. They went to the Messenger SAW. Look at the wise teacher who told them, it is an hour and an hour Hanzala. If u continue maintaining the status u develop while u r with me, angles would shake hands with u on your beds and in the streets referring to a very high spiritual status that allow them to have no veil between them and the unknown. Just as Allah Say in Quran "(It will be said to the sinners): "Indeed you were heedless of this, now We have removed your covering, and sharp is your sight this Day!" (Quran 50:22). See in this Ayah Allah Is describing the status of one who is experiencing stupor of death, when the cover is removed and one is allowed to see his/her position.

As for Jebreel, I found this hadeeth. Forgive me usually I look for the hadeeth in Arabic and translate it. I have difficutly searching in English.

Narrated on the authority of Aesha that she said one who claims that Mohamed saw his Lord has committed something grave, but he saw Jebreel on his real form, his image blocked what is between the horizon. (reported by Bukhari). But Radiyah if u noticed, the hadeeth is narrated after Aesha I mean she didnt say I heard the Messenger say so.

Another hadeeth:

Narrated on the authority of Ibn Masoud that he said the Messenger SAW said:regarding the tafseer of the Ayah(<b>And indeed he (Muhammad ﺻﻠﻰ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﻋﻠﻴﻪ ﻭﺳﻠﻢ) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] at a second descent (i.e. another time).
</b> I saw Jebreel SAW and he has 6 hundred wings, of his feathers gem and ruby are being spread" (reported by Ahmed)

I also remember reading but I can not find it now, that Hazmah, the Messenger's uncle asked to be allowed to see Jebreel. When he appeared, he blocked the horizong and Hamza fainted. After that he learnt never to ask for something he does not know the consequences of...

Hope I helped
