Asalaamu alikum brother,

Yes, its an obligation on the Muslim to fast the month of Ramadan, and if your Eeman is weak this is the perfect opportunity to strengthen it again. Lots of opportunity this month to seek Allah's Mercy, forgivness and blessings insha Allah.

The Shaytan is locked up its true, and if you find yourself making mistakes or thinking or doing the haraam, this comes from your nafs. We can use this month to control and train ourselves by struggling to overcome them. And insha Allah we will come out of Ramadan better than we went into it.

And stick with it. If you really try sincerly, I believe that each new day you will find to be eaiser than the day before it.

The first part of Ramadan is for forgivness, the second part for mercy, and the third for salvation from the hellfire. Already we are getting close to the middle, and alhumdulilah brother, there is still time. May Allah help you. Take care,

Your sister,

~Jennifer

let me pop in here and just make a slight correction. The first part is for mercy and the middle is forgiveness. And yes Shaytan is locked, but not all of them. . The small shaytans are not locked, plus each one of us has a shaytan as companion. The most important is that if one is a victim of witchcraft, shall also face the shaytans. But all of this is easily overcome when u seek Allah's help and guidance. Stick to reciting Ayatul korsi, it deters shaytan. When u feel that u want to skil a fasting, just think that not fasting for one day can not be made up even if u fast the whole year. Think of how Allah Is providing golden chances in this blessed month, think of the reward waiting for those who fast. Think that when u fight yourself and continue fasting for what Jennifer said also about nafs is very true. If u feel that u want to break your fast, give out a small amount of sadaqah, any amount, shaytan will stop urging u not to fast. Insh a Allah Allah Will Support u and allow u to fast the whole month ameen.

I know this may seem obvious but my advice for any new muslims being one myself, is when the thirst (which is normally worse) starts to come, and you just want that one sip of water. Read a few pages of Quran, even if you are reading it already. In between reading it you'll notice the thirst and hunger more.

So instead of that sip just pick it up and read, concentrate on the words and the first will dissapate. The words of Allah will have you so deeply in thought thirst will seem minor. This is what's helping me, and strong prayer of course. But yeh if you're not reading Quran through this time, pick it up and read it...before you know it it'll be insha allah time to enjoy Allahs fruits again.

I've never appreacited food so much ever in my entire life since i became Muslim fasting. Never gave it thought, now when it come time to break the fast, the food seems to have so much more flavor and the colours of the food seem stronger and more enticing, and water is soo sweeet....

Mash a Allah Anya

one more point brother Waheed, when u feel that u dont want to fast, just think why would u want to make Shaytan happy. Because if u dont fast it means Shaytan was able to defeat u. Also the nafs at the same time was able to defeat u.

Look at this Ayha to confirm what Jennifer said:

This thread has more info about nafs Insh a Allah will add to u

If only u focus on how to defeat both shaytan and nafs rather than being defeated Insh a Allah u will be much inspired by Allah's Will

Asalamalaykum

Recite this Dua Waheed, make also wudu before you start.

Alahuma inni abduka, ibnu abdika, ibnu amatika, naasiyatee biyadika, maadin fiya hukmuka, adlun fiyya qadaa’uka, as’asluka bikulli ismin huwa laka, samaita bihi nafsaka, aw ansaltahu fee kitaabika, aw allamtahu ahadan min khalqika, awista tharta bihi fee ‘ilmil ghaibi indaka, an taj’alal Qurana rabee’a qalbi, wa noora sadri, wa jalaa’a huzni, wad ha-haaba hammi

Oh Allah, I am your slave and the son of your slaves. My fate is in your hands. Your judgement upon me is assured. Justice upon me is your command. I ask you by every name you taken for yourself, revealed in your book, taught any one of your creation or taken unto yourself in the realm of the unknown, to make the Quraan the spring of my heart, and the light of my breast, the banisher of my sadness and the reliever of my despondency.

Alahuma inni a’udhu bika minal hammi wal hazni, wal ajzi wal kasali, wal bhukli wal jubni, wa dala’id daini wa ghalabtir rijaal

Oh Allah, I seek refuge in you from despondency and sadness, from weakness and from laziness, from miserliness and from cowardice, from perversion of Faith and from the domination of others.

I also read in a post you once posted that someone was using black magic against you,

This is (A very powerful dua) a against all evil, It helped me many times

Alahumma Rabbas samawaatis sab’I, wa Rabbal Arshil Azeem, kun Li jaran min ( Fulani bin fulaanin) wa ahzaabihi min khalaa’iqika , an yafruta aLayya ahadun minhum aw yatgha, azza jaaruka, wa jalla thanna’uka, wa la ilaha illa Anta.

Oh Allah, lord of the sevens heavens, lord of the Magnificent throne, be for me a support against (such and such a person mention the name here of what you are seeking protection against be it even shaytan or the name of the person) and his helpers from among your creatures, lest any of them abuse or do me wrong. Mighty is your patronage and glorious are your praises. There is no but you.

InshaAllah those dua's will melt away your fears, Allah has promised that he will answer our prayers so long we call him, even if it means one hour before the Khiyama he'll answer you if HE wills.

Quote:too confuse again , I wish there was a school that teacher you Islam in UK

Brother, You don't really need to go to an Islamic school in order to educate yourself islamicly, there are plenty of books out there that will give you all the knowledge you need, and can you not afford books? Every mosque should have books for borrowing, or you can even give the masjid a visit and ask those more knowledgeable to teach you things about Islam. Is the mosque too far, trying hanging around people who fear Allah. It is truly amazing what effect it can have on you to just be in the presence of the righteous and avoiding those who can harm your Imaan. In everything in life, you have to start small to get where you wanna be. Of course having a Mua'lim (Islamic teacher) is the best, but in the meanwhile try to help yourself Brother and ask us for help. My Islamic knowledge is not so good, when I was young my caregivers brought me and my brothers and sisters a quraan teacher in our home.

At the age of 8 I had the entire Quraan memorized, at the age of 13 I could only go as far as AL-Fatiha. You must be asking yourself how that happened. The very same people who made so much effort to give me the opportunity to learn the Quraan, were the same people that never taught me to pray, nor what wudu even was. See, that’s how I lost my quraan (I never appreciated it to start with, and I was never taught the value of the Quraan or that it’s something we need to apply to our life or what it was all for. See, Knowledge has no value once you don’t even know what it’s for. Allah took it all away from me because I didn't deserve it.

Children from the neighbourhood in south Germany would also join us at our house, many of them thought I was rich because I was learning my surahs so fast, but I thought I was so empty inside (and I really was). I had absolutely no connection with the Quraan whatsoever. It was to me more like memorizing my math for school. When it would get close to the time the teacher would arrive, I was reminded to put on a hijab. As a child I did what I was told, but as I grew older, I began questioning why I needed to cover myself only when the teacher is coming, whereas I go to school without it. That all created only further confusions for me. Day after day, I would forget a surah, day after day I would feel only more and more empty inside, up until I couldn’t recite anything. My whole Imaan went down hill. To cut a long story short, my parents whom were believed to have died when I was only 3 showed up just a little after my 13th birthday. Alhamdulilah I was happy that I was no longer an orphan. Ever since my two blessed parents made it back into my life, they have taught me everything all over again, They have taught me the beauty of islam and who I am. They helped me revive my Imaan and the quraan that suddenly got deleted from my mind. They have taught me how to slowly apply the Quraan in my life and above all that every little thing I do for Allah’s sake inshaAllah will be my shield against the Hell-fire someday. There are a lot of Muslim children who are now where I was 6 years ago, I pray to Allah all the time that he brings them out of their darkness and that he shows them the true meaning of Islam. Would I not have had my parents there to guide me (with Allahs will). I would have become someone else today, a girl so lost without any faith. Alhamdulilah, May Allah never take our parents away from us, at least not for a very long time. Ameen

You have to take all the days of Ramadan. Allah(sw) is forgiving and does not require that you fast if you are sick, pregnant since you will be needing to feed the child. If you accidently miss a day or two, you can make up by giving to the poor.
