Islam was spread to spread the authority of mohammad and his arab cohorts. I see no difference in the spread of arab imperialism to that of european imperialism.

Just slight corrections on the language


Islam means to submit to Allah Lifutishi, it is derived from yaslum but another derivative of the verb is salam which is peace. So it bears in its sense the peace part. But the word Islam is to submit


Also about the Christians and jews being in Saudi Arabia. I know that there are many Christians work in Saudi Arabia for foreign companies. But I am not sure about Jews (not sure if American jews are hired there)?? Remember that Saudi Arabia does not have diplomatic ties with Isreal, unlike Egypt and a number of other Arab states. Jews status is different. But they work here in Egypt.

i was just putting what i learned from my father (he knows arabic, i don't). he told me that 'salaam = peace', and it is one of the many meanings of Islam. but i also remeber he told me (years ago) about 'submission' as the main menaing of Islam.
