ROME Rome's chief rabbi is drawing praise from both Jewish and Muslim leaders for his plans to visit the main mosque in the Italian capital today.
His office says Riccardo Di Segni will be the first chief rabbi in Rome to pay a visit to a mosque, and his action is meant to promote inter-religious dialogue.
An Italian newspaper (Corriere della Sera) has reported that the rabbi would meet with the secretary-general of the Islamic Cultural Center of Italy, and the president of the Muslim World League in Italy.
