Bismillah as salam alykom One First let me welcome you to the board, we hope Insh aAllah that your stay will be beneficial for u and us. Insh aAllah i will try to find the answer for u unless one of the brothers and sisters finds it before me. Bismillah as salam alykom One ok to the best of my knowledge and Allah knows best, the following Ayah covers the issue of dressing up: "O Children of Adam! We have bestowed raiment upon you to cover yourselves (screen your private parts, etc.) and as an adornment , and the raiment of righteousness, that is better. Such are among the Signs of Allah, that they may remember (i.e. leave falsehood and follow truth)." (Quran 7:26) The underlined part explains that people may dress for various reasons, in addition to even identifying the different class of clothing that might be expensive. As if by this Ayah Allah Explained to mankind that they will even spend much money on clothing when they can afford it. But at the same time, the Ayah encouraged mankind to maintain the dress of righteousness. This is of course a metaphoric style in expressing Allah Is symbolizing righteousness as a dress that may cover mankind with the best of covering of course.

Bismillah Thank u john for your input, u actually put it in a very clear manner. True, brother One, as long as the person is a non muslim, then I think it will be difficult to bring him/her to terms with a Quran Ayah commanding us to cover. Well, just tell them, that u as a muslim you are not allowed while they can do as they please.
no wonder prostitution is so common in christian countries

Peace...... Prostution is prevelant everywhere. And saying "christian countries" is very misleading. Simply because a majority of people in a particular country profess a belief in chrisitanity, does not mean that country is a "chrisitan country" And besides, Christians who follow the Bible have clear instruction as to dressing modestly, such as: 1stTimothy 2:9 - In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with braided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array. 1stTimothy 2:10 - But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works. The reason for this modesty in dress is also clearly explained..... 1stCorinthians 6:19 - What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 1stCorinthians 6:20 - For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. For the Chrisitan who obeys the Bible, our body is not our own, so we must modestly cover it. As to the question asked at the beginning of this string, if the people spoken to are professing Chrisitans, show them these verses, they can either submit like they are supposed to, or continue in their sin. Peace..... I will agree with Muslim to a point. It is not you who does the convincing, God does the convincing through you. That does not mean you shouldn't try. But just know and understand that if conviction does not take place at that exact moment, it is probably not time (if the time ever comes) for them to understand what you are saying. Shamms

Peace..... Let me say this to clarify something. There is no such thing as a "christian country". We (the believing Christians) are taught in the Bible that this entire world lies in wickedness (1st John 5:19), and that the believing chrisitan is supposed to be seperate from this world just as Christ was (John 17:16). In saying that there is a "chrisitan country" says that there is a country that follows the principles as commanded in the Bible....there is not. Christ said his kingdom was not of this world (John 18:36). I hope this clears this matter up. Shamms

Quote:You are right.Prostitution is everywhere..And it is business. But when I say Cristians Country, I meant western Country. Cristian Religion doesnt allow Prostitution, am I right? And a Cristian who has strong faith, he/she doesnt will have sex contact without marriage... Peace..... Well if you mean Western countries, You should say that, as saying "christian country", is rather offensive. People having strong faith or not is not a reflection of the religion, but of the person professing that religion. The Bible does not condone having boy/girlfriends and does forbid sex before marrage. So again, it's not a reflection on the religion. Like you said, it's for one's own desires..... Shamms |
