Lack of activity

Salam,


There are 2107 members on this forum, and I dont think there's been a dozen posts (excluding my own, I've practically taken over) during the past week!


How can there be such a higher number of members, yet such a low post count? I've noticed it too with threads. They get plenty of viewing counts, yet the ratio of viewing and posting is 10:1 so far in my estimations. And that's being kind!


Most threads I've seen dont have more than half a dozen posts, yet high viewing counts (atleast a hundred), so what's going on?


And why does it take so long to approve an account? When people try to sign up to a forum, they do it because they have an opinion - yet atleast in my experience, its been days. How many potential posters have been lost by this delay? :(

May be we have a different viewpoint regarding the number of posts/viewing ratio. Welcome to the board.


And Insh a Allah Allah Brings in whoever Allah Wills too and Makes them stay. so doing the activity on time does not really make us loose potential posters. We delegate our affairs to Allah in running this place. It really depends on the aim of the member of being on an Islamic board.


Everything has its due time.

I think you're missing the point. What I'm saying is that Moderators, should encourage people - to spread the word of this forum. The more people that come online and make several posts, or several replies (like a conversation), the more active the forum would be. It's simple logic.


We can't just have a passive attitude and just say to ourselves, 'if it wasn't meant to be then, then oh well'. We should atleast try more actively, to encourage people. We need more young people, who have more free time on this forum so they can boost the community level in it.


There seems to be an average of 2 posts a day on the entire forum. That is pretty pathetic I'm sorry to say, especially when an average forum has several created threads daily, which can span up to over a dozen pages if all the posts were counted.


Does the administrator of this website not see an issue like I, and others, have discussed with the lack of activity? Isn't there a rule stated here, that a person's membership will be reviewed based on their activity on the forums? It seems the most people do here i just register :huh: Most, no doubt, will have seen this issue of lack of posts and have moved elsewhere. Infact, I rarely see more than one person (either me or Rock) online at the same on this forum during the whole day!


Anyways, I've blabbered enough :P

No harm, why dont u instead focus on trying to search around the contents of the board and benefit of it. Insh a Allah I m sure you will have much to learn and share with all of us.

With all due respect, it wasn't merely a stat. If people do not post on a forum, then the forum is practically dead - thus irrelevant as it doesnt fulfil its main point - discussion. If you look at most forums, espcially ones as this, you'd see my point. The fact, the stat, of the amount of members although is inexcusable and so this whole issue is really, well, an issue. How can you have over 2000 members with a forum desperate for posts and discussion?


However, if the Administrator of this forum is satisfied with the trend of activity on this forum; then what does it matter? We might aswell get one post per month ^_^ I was just hoping for a little more discussion on these boards. Maybe I'll check back to see the replies to my queries in a few years? I'm sure I'd get a reply or two :P
