Christains supports
#1

Bismillah:

I found the following on one of the Christians websites, thought to share...

<b>The Bible says not to kill yet many Christians support the death penalty
</b>

Email: The Bible says it is forbidden to kill, yet <b>many Christians in America support the death penalty and order wars and bombs which kill tens of thousands</b>, yet this is somehow rationalized and an excuse is made as to how this does not violate Christianity, when it plainly does.

Response: First of all, <b>the Bible does not say that it is forbidden to kill. The Bible says that it is forbidden to murder</b>. The old the King James translation is unfortunate. For example, <b>God gives us the right of self-defense and sometimes in that self-defense, it is necessary to kill someone</b>. Furthermore, <b>the Bible supports the death penalty as many Old Testament Scriptures clearly state</b>. So, God is not making a mistake by saying do not kill and yet putting people to death via the death penalty.

Furthermore, <b>murder is the unlawful taking of life. Killing is the lawful taking of life</b>. Therefore, in the issue of taking life we must determine whether or not is lawful or not. If a murderer is sentenced to death in a lawful manner via the law of the land, then it is not murder. However, if a person were to rob someone else and kill him in the process, that is not a lawful taking of life and his murder. God never murders because before God, all people are guilty before the holy law that he is given.

Finally, <b>it is not a a self-contradiction for a person to condemn murder but believe in the death penalty.</b>

You are really Funny John. :D

Alhamdulelah, I am nothing but a Muslim… the reason why I always like to dig and search this religion "<i>Christianity</i>" because I interestingly found that its teaching has absolutely nothing to do with what the followers of this religion practice today. And so, I always like to quote what Biblical scholars and learned Christians said about certain issues that almost all the followers disagree with and yet those teaching perfectly match with Islam, they abuse us many times concering several rules in Islam, but if you read their Bible you will find that those rules and teachings aren’t foreign to them, but they simply do not follow such rules.

So John, don’t ever think that I am going to be a Christian ok; :D <b>I did not even think about it when I was not practicing Islam.</b>

Quote:I forget Wel, did you "revert" to islam from something else ?

No, I born in a Muslim family in Egypt/Alexandria, I did not practice Islam in my early age because I was busy singing in night clubs and weddings parties, I married a Catholic girl and moved to Hong Kong, I start practice Islam gradually, then my wife embraced Islam after 2 years of our marriage.

Just short version of our story

In the name of the father, the son and the holy spirt

May god bless you,

the death penalty is always bad. it is never in our right to take away a life no matter what they did, be they murderers, or committed crimes at any standard.

those christians you mention might not be practicing. if they knew their true fail they would konow it is in the hand of god to judge. we can contain a criminal in jail but not take their life.!! a practicing catholic would recognise that. and whaterver religion it is the death penalty is wrong
