Bismillah:
Recently our Hindus friends have come up with new idea to convince Muslims that their God (whom they call Lord Ram) is the same as Allah (which is God’s name in Arabic). They said that there must be a huge relationship between their ‘god’ Ram and Allah the God of Muslims and that’s why we see one of the oldest City in Palestine called Ramallah which is a combination between both names (i.e Lord Ram and Allah), Indicating that both names refer to the same God.
So it’s our duty as Muslims to clarify this ‘weird’ misconception to our Non Muslim friends.
The name Ramallah has its origins in two words, Ram or Rama is an Aramaic word meaning 'a high place' and Allah is the Arabic name of God, making Ramallah God's hill.
So there is no relationship whatsoever between "Ram" the God of Hindu and the Arabic name of God Allah.
More information about the City of Ramallah.
