Well it has been announced here in Egypt that tomorrow, Sunday 26th of October, is the first day of Ramadan. I am not sure about the rest of the countries or Europe. May you have a blessed Ramadan Insh aAllah

Assalamualaikum Wa Rahmatullah.

Sister Muslimah, thanks a lot for your concern.

In Spain, the first day of Ramadan is on Monday, the 27th of october. In the office building, I could find a Moroccan brother who speaks very less english but very good spanish. He is living here in spain and he gave me all the details. He has also given me the mobile number. My colleague here in Spain is a USA settled Egyptian. I gave the phone number of the spanish moroccan brother and the two communicated in arabic. so i know all the details now. I even have a printout the spanish times of the Sahoor and IFtaar.

http://www.ccislamico.org is the link, where people can get to know more about ramadan and spanish prayer times in Spain. Its been a week now & I have already offered my friday prayers in the mosque with my colleague. Alhamdulillah, Allah SWT has always made things easier for me. I am always thankful for His countless blessings.

Please do pray for my Ramadan.

Jazak Allahu Khairan.

Ahmed.

In most EUROPEAN citys are also on sunday. But dsome muslims dont care the moon they just beginn with calendar of his/her staate. So we are divided here, we beginn on sunday and some others monday, so sad. My neighboor beginn on monday while I'm fasting on sunday (today)..Wassalam. BTW:Evry1 have blessed ramadan insa-allah...

Asalaamu alikum my Brothers and Sisters!

My you all have a blessed Ramadan, and all our prayers and deeds and fasting be accepted in sha Allah.

How can you start to fast before the moon is seen? It was not seen until the 26th, making the 27th of October the first day of Ramadan 1424. We must go by the moonsighting. It was seen in America on the 26th, so it would be the same for Australia, Africa and Americas.

Go to this website it goes into great detail about the sighting of the moon.
