A Symbolic Invitation

I tried to find a picture showing cous-cous but I failed.


So this is a symbolic invitation to sisters and brothers in faith, to share the Morrocan national dish called cous-cous and that traditionally is served on Fridays.


I thought it suitable today the last Friday before our beloved Ramadan starts, inshaAllah.


Brothers invited to sit at one table and sisters at another table.

Oh, this brings back so many memories for me (just reading this thread). When we lived in germany We used to have morrocan neighbours. They had many children like us, and we used to play together a lot, even after maqrib. The morrocan mother taught my mom how to make cous-cous and we used to eat it all together. It was soo nice......quite yummie. Very delicious.


Do you Sisters eat a lot of rice ( Basmati)? And lasagna? Thats our traditional food, lots of pasta, lots of rice, a lot of meat lol...many spices. Any italian could invite me to eat anytime and I would fit in within a snap

Radiyah, harirah is a soup but not spicy no unless I ate it wrong in Morrocco wallahu a`lam.


Intution we do eat rice and pasta but not much, not lasagna but we have our local way of making maccaroni. Mostly we eat vegetable, meat and rice or maccaroni aside. But the main would be the vegetable. wow Ramadan is really getting to us.


And Intuition how many countries u lived in? I remember u saying that u came to Egypt when u were 9, now Germany and I know u live in New Zealand. How did u ended up there anyway???????

Thank you Muslimah for drawing my attention to this thread, and forgive me for not answering before Intuition - I simply forgot!


Yes harirah can of course be done a little bit personal, but I think that one anyway can say that it is not spicy - it is rich in ingredients. When you eat a cup of it, especially during Ramadan, it makes you content. But if you take two cups instead of one, then it makes you too full and you will not have anything more. And that is not a good way to eat anyway. Our beloved Prophet, SAAWS said to eat one third, drink one third and leave room for one third of air too.

Oh hareera is not spicy, but many morrocans and algerians I know cooked it as spicy and very spicy too , maybe it is their way of cooking
