Haram foods....
#1

http://www.eat-halal.com/haram.shtml

The arabic word (Haram) means unlawful. The following items have been categorically spelled out as being Haram by jurists in light of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet Mohammad :

1. Pig

2. Blood

3. Carnivorous animals

4. Almost all reptiles and insects

5. The bodies of dead animals

6. Halal animals which are not slaughtered according to the Islamic Law.

7. Wine, Ethyl Alcohol, and Spirits.

The above mentioned items are Haram and should be avoided by all Muslims.

So, I don't follow how you can eat animals slaughtered properly, but not their dead bodies? Don't they have to be dead?

What animals CAN you eat?

Bismillah

Hello Phat,

Dead bodies of animals they are refering to are animals that have died by natural causes, or killed not according to Islamic law.

Of course the animal has to be dead to eat it [Image: rolleyes.gif] but they must be slaughtered according to Islamic Law. These animals include: lamb, goat, cow, chicken, duck. There are many more, Just as you posted they can not be carnivous, reptiles or birds that use their talons to kill, since they are eating other animals.

All seafood is Halal for us. I hope this helps.

Peace

How are u phat, hope doing well.

well when an animal dies a natural death, and stays more than 5 minutes not being slaughtered , then the body begins to produce worms and it starts to rot , when u eat this it will affect your health of course, and then u will face many diseases only God knows about, so in order to preserve our health and life, we are not to eat it, same as pork, no matter what u try to do to it or clean it, or even kill it in the right way, it is still rotten, it's meat is full with worms, even if it is medically treated.

and about the Islamic way of slaughter, the animal is slaughtered from the neck from a certain artery, where all the bad blood will come out, and keeps the animal courpse healthy, if it was choaked, or hit on the head or any other kind of killing other than the Islamic slaughter then the blood will clot and produces cancerous cells, that will affect the human body when eaten. so as u see when we are prohibited to eat these things it is for our own health. God created us and he knows what is best for us. I hope this helped u as well and will give u the right answer.[Image: smile.gif]

Peace
