prophets around the world
#1

i have a question and i hope someone can answer it if possible.

At the time of when religions were still being taught by prophets.. were prophets only in the "Geziret El Arab" the middle east now? were there any prophets sent to places like europe / china etc..?

I know that Chritianity was the dominating religion of "Al Room" Like Ceaser etc..

or was religion to these places spread after the existence of prophets.

Also any thing in the Qura'an that specifies why prophets were only in the Middle Eeast?

thanks

Assalamo ALikum brother,

according to the Qur'an that Allah has sent to each nation a messenger, not only to the middle east. but he doesnt mentioned all of them in the Qur'an. here is the verse from Surah (An-nahl) regarding this matter.

16:36 - For we assuredly sent amongst every people an apostle, (with the command), serve God, and eschew evil: of the people were some whom God guided, and some on whom error became inevitably (established). so travel through the earth, and see what was the end of those who denied (the truth).

Who said so, prophets were sent everywhere, but not all were mentioned in Quran, but there is one that u will be astonished that he is a prophet, Alexander the great, his name in the Quran was tho AlQarneen, and here are the verses int he Quran that mention his story:

In the Name of Allah Most Gracious Most Merciful:

83. And they ask you about Dhul-Qarnain. Say: "I shall recite to you something of his story."

84. Verily, We established him in the earth, and We gave him the means of everything.

85. So he followed a way.

86. Until, when he reached the setting place of the sun, he found it setting in a spring of black muddy (or hot) water. And he found near it a people. We (Allâh) said (by inspiration): "O Dhul-Qarnain! Either you punish them, or treat them with kindness."

87. He said: "As for him (a disbeliever in the Oneness of Allâh) who does wrong, we shall punish him; and then he will be brought back unto his Lord; Who will punish him with a terrible torment (Hell).

88. "But as for him who believes (in Allâh's Oneness) and works righteousness, he shall have the best reward, (Paradise), and we (Dhul-Qarnain) shall speak unto him mild words (as instructions)."

89. Then he followed another way,

90. Until, when he came to the rising place of the sun, he found it rising on a people for whom We (Allâh) had provided no shelter against the sun.

91. So (it was)! And We knew all about him (Dhul-Qarnain).

92. Then he followed (another) way,

93. Until, when he reached between two mountains, he found, before (near) them (those two mountains), a people who scarcely understood a word.

94. They said: "O Dhul-Qarnain! Verily! Ya'jûj and Ma'jûj (Gog and Magog) are doing great mischief in the land. Shall we then pay you a tribute in order that you might erect a barrier between us and them?"

95. He said: "That (wealth, authority and power) in which my Lord had established me is better (than your tribute). So help me with strength (of men), I will erect between you and them a barrier.

96. "Give me pieces (blocks) of iron," then, when he had filled up the gap between the two mountain-cliffs, he said: "Blow," till when he had made it (red as) fire, he said: "Bring me molten copper to pour over it."

97. So they [Ya'jûj and Ma'jûj (Gog and Magog)] were made powerless to scale it or dig through it.

98. Dhul-Qarnain) said: "This is a mercy from my Lord, but when the Promise of my Lord comes, He shall level it down to the ground. And the Promise of my Lord is ever true."

99. And on that Day [i.e. the Day Ya'jûj and Ma'jûj (Gog and Magog) will come out], We shall leave them to surge like waves on one another, and the Trumpet will be blown, and We shall collect them all together.

100. And on that Day We shall present Hell to the disbelievers, plain to view,

101. (To) Those whose eyes had been under a covering from My Reminder (this Qur'ân), and who could not bear to hear (it).

Surrat Al-Kahf

A sheikh addressed the issue of Alexander the grate (I refuse to call anyone but Allah Great). He stated that we have no difinitive proof that Alex was AlQarneen. What history does tell us is that he worshiped Greek gods. This automatically makes him a nonmuslim.

It is okay. We do not need famous people to be muslim to make Islam great in history or now. I see this trend in Islam where we want to see people who are famous for things outside of Islam and having them be muslim. I prefer the route that the Companions went. Because of Islam, they were great men. Forget this dunya and forget the need to use the West's history to legitimize our perfect deen.

Some things will always remain Al-ghaib. Allah tells us that. We do not have to identify each prophet. It is part of our being human slaves of Allah that we will not know the vast majority of knowledge that exists that we could access, let along that which Allah has Kept for Himself.

Insha'Allah I do not sound negative. May Allah Forgive me is I have. May anyone whom I have offended forgive me as well. It is my shortcomings.

Jazakum Allah

Salam brother dan, I am sorry for putting his name as alexander the great, I know I shouldn't, greatness is only for Allah, he has another name called alexander the maqdony, and for sure he is the same one, and many scholars assure it is the same one mentioned in Quran, and that all those myths or stories about him that he worshiped Gods is not true, and Allah knows best, there is one woman scholar who made a reasearch about the verses in the Quran and from it's translation she reached that it is the same alexander. some1 of my family has the book, I will aske for it and translate it by will of Allah, and I will ask more scholars to affirm it. May Allah forgive me if I am mistaken, and no, no offence insha'Allah, we are here to learn from each other, and if one is mistaken he must admit his mistake, we are humans, and who of us is without guilt.[Image: smile.gif]

Alsalam Brother,

Jazzak Allah mithlah brother, u know Yesterday I asked another scholar about this issue, he said Yes many Scholars say that he is the same but he said that it was not, I still have that book about that scholar woman who made the reasearch I will read it and c what I find in it, and by will of Allah the truth will come out. If I was mistaken may Allah forgive me, and if I am right may Allah accept from me. The moment i get the book I will let u know.

And by the way Dan, Islam began since our father Adam, till our time, all the prophets since then till know called for Islam, it is the people who changed and fabricated relegions that Allah Almighty never called for. For Example u have prophet Yusif, he was in egypt, at the pharos time, the king was kaffir later he became muslim when prophet yusif was out of jail, did u read his story in the holy Quran, but then the jews changed the story, or whoever did I don't know. And u know that I heard one scholar say that buddah was really a prophet, then people made a statue to remember him, then people turned into worshipping the statue, that is why statues are now haram in Islam because people always turned from worshiping God into worshiping statues of prophets or virtous people, just like at the time of prophet Noah

This is the story of prophet yusif(Joseph) I love this surra [Image: smile.gif] I love the whole Quran [Image: smile.gif]

So Islam is from the very begining of life, and even before Adam, there were the jinn before us, and God created them before us to worship him but they were infedil, then he sent satan with an army to fight them, and so on, whatever:D , I will never finish, I blabered a lot. But last but not least, Islam is there it proves itself, and it does not need famous people to prove it is true.So I will c the matter of Alexander, and if I am mistaken, accept my apology in advance:) .

Wasalam 'alaykom wa rahamt Allah wa Barakatuh.
