Bismillah:
Quote:Very good. We are agreed in the following things:
1 - That website was islamic.
Yes we did agree on this.
Quote:2 - You disagree with the information in there.
Regarding spreading Islam by the sword, yes I disagree with them.
Quote:3 - The religion of Islam does not have a structure in which your disagreement carries any weight whatsoever.
When did we agree on that? Are you putting words in my mouth?
Quote:The quote you have above says that it is the most absurd myth that ignorant enemies of Islam have ever repeated.
You either misquoted me or didn’t read my statement correctly. I said spreading Islam at the point of the sword is the most absurd myth that ignorant and
the enemy of Islam have ever repeated.
Ignorant AND
enemies are not alike. Got my point now?
Quote:Well, according to that quote above, and the information I retrieved, it would appear that the good people of Islam Question and Answer are "enemies of Islam".
No they are not enemies, they are Muslims like me but we are in disagreement on this point… aren’t you and the 1000+ sects of Christianity always in disagreement? If you want to make a fair judgment you should listen to what the majority of both Muslims and Non Muslims said about this issue, then you will come to the conclusion that Islam was not spread by the sword. In fact it was the sword of intellect that conquers the hearts and minds of people. The Qur’an says chapter 16 verse 125:
’Invite (all) to the way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious.
’ [Al-Qur’an 16:125]
Plus sometimes force has to be used to maintain peace. Islam promotes peace, at the same time, Islam exhorts it followers to fight where there is oppression. The fight against oppression may at times require the use of force. In Islam force can only be used to promote peace and justice and not to convert people to embrace Islam.
I hope this is clear by now.
