what I meant to say is that... you seem to take the issue of "where is allah" to be a RELATIVELY trivial matter...

Hmmm... as usual, I'm inclined to disagree with you :P It's certainly not trivial.

but i think it is one of the most fundamental part of any religion to be firm on their understanding of where god is..... because, if you dont know god... in the most fundamental ways... how can you worship him... how can you worship one you dont know..... this is why islam goes at length for us to understand god....

At last we can agree on something :D The meaning of life according to Catholicism is to "know, love & serve God". You can't love if you don't know & you can't serve if you don't love. All three virtues go hand in hand. Christians & Muslims might vary in their understanding of Theology but ultimately we're striving to reach the same goal.

it formulates what we call our "aqeedah" and the most fundamental pillar in this aqeedah or belief system is tauhid (monotheism)

I have several questions that I'd like to ask you in regards to "Who & Where Allah (SWT) is" according to Islam, but I'm going to have to wait until I get back from my holiday (10 weeks). As for the picture... are you referring to the one I'm displaying? I think you can save it by simply right clicking with your mouse. Better hurry mate because I'm considering changing it real soon - I've snapped up heaps of awesome photos here (including Muslims visiting & sitting inside a Catholic Church) & I can't wait to show them off (providing it's permissible on this site).

I have several questions that I'd like to ask you in regards to "Who & Where Allah (SWT) is"

Ok, since brother Naseeha is busy I guess, then I thought to step up and offer some answers insh a Allah.


<b>WHO IS ALLAH? </b>


The best definition that any Muslim could give in order to answer this question, is to quote you chapter 112 from the Qur'an where Allah Himself tells us plainly who He really is.


He tells us to <b>SAY</b> in answer to your question the following:


<b>Say</b>: He is Allah, the One and Only;



<b>Allah</b>, the Eternal, Absolute;



He begetteth not, nor is He begotten;



And there is none like unto Him.
Qur'an 112:1-4


As you can see FHC, He is <b>ONE AND ONLY</b>, which means He is NOT ONE IN THREE OR THREE IN ONE, He is eternal, He is not going to die for a period of time, He is not even going to sleep, He is everlasting, He does not beget, nor was He begotten, means He has no SON or DAUGHTER, and He was there since time immemorial. And lastly, there is <b>NOTHING whatsoever comparable to Him</b>, so the moment your imagination drew any mental picture to God Almighty, be sure that He is not God.


That was the concept of God in Islam briefly as you have requested.


As regards to your second question:


<b>Where is Allah?</b>


I think brother Hadji and Sister Muslimah have given a very good explanation regarding this topic on the other thread located HERE, so you may read their posts# 209, 210, 211, 212, but if you are in a hurry, then you can read Muslimah's <b>post# 213</b>.
