Marines cheer song about killing Iraqi civilians
#1

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 6/12/06) - The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) today called on the Pentagon and Congress to investigate a music video posted on the Internet that seems to show U.S. Marines cheering a song that glorifies the killing of Iraqi civilians.

CAIR said the four-minute video, called "hadji girl," purports to be a "marine in iraq singing a song about hadji." (A "Hajji" is a person who has made the Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, but the term has often been used as a pejorative by U.S. troops in Iraq.) The song, posted online in March, tells of a U.S. Marine's encounter with an Iraqi woman. It has been viewed by almost 50,000 people.

The song's lyrics include: "I grabbed her little sister and put her in front of me. As the bullets began to fly, the blood sprayed from between her eyes, and then I laughed maniacally. . .I blew those little f**kers to eternity . . .They should have known they were f**king with the Marines." Members of the audience, not shown in the video, laughed and cheered wildly for these lyrics.

Comments apparently posted by other military personnel express approval for the song's contents. One comment states: "This makes me happy to be a Marine. But look out! Here comes the rest of the country to call us evil!" Other comments criticize the video as racist.

"Given the recent allegations that U.S. Marines massacred Iraqi civilians in Haditha and other areas, we need to determine if this video is what it purports to be," said CAIR Executive Director Nihad Awad. "The inappropriate actions of a few individuals should not be allowed to tarnish the reputation of all American military personnel."

Awad called on Pentagon officials and members of Congress to investigate the video and all other allegations of such conduct in Iraq.

That is absolutely horrible. However made that video is a horrible person and they will be judged. I wouldn't necessarily believe that the produces are military personel though. A sick person did it for sure. They need to research that and punish the people who did it accordingly.

I have a very different opinion on this one that might sound surprsing from a Muslim.

Well I can again smell a foreign hand behind this video. On the Intenet era anything can be forged at high tech levels.

There was a time when videos were made about Muslims beheading Americans while cheering up Allah u Akbar. At that time, an American person I remember very well, made a similar video and then decalred that it was made up in an effort to prove that those videos could be also made up.

Just like this one. I can smell a third hand working hard to fuel between Muslims and American. Not that we are not aware of their crimes or accepting them, but I think there are limits to how sick people can be.

I'm not one for conspiracy theories (except for one about Tony Blair being an alien. Just look at that smile. Creepy innit?), but I must admit it seems odd that just as the one great enemy, the USSR, disappears, another rises up to take its place.

Well to be exact, Islamic terrorism.

Logic or paranoia, take your pick :)

More money changes hands in this world from guns than from plough shears, and just as it begins to look as if we're going to do more farming than shooting, we find ourselves spending billions killing each other.

Two years after the official fall of communism Iraq invades Kuwait, after Kuwait does just enough little things to needle Saddam. The USA intervenes. Stirs up a bit more distrust between Islam and the west. One seething tyrant left in power. Nice little breeding ground for terrorism. A few small terrorist attacks in the 90's, which eventually lead up to the biggy in 9/11, after that anyone could see where it could lead to.

So imagine yourself as someone making billions in arms sales in 1989, your business prospects going down the pan along with communism. How much of a backhander would Kuwait have needed to encourage a bit of slant drilling of Iraqi oil, and how much of a carrot would you need to dangle in front of Saddam? All in all, a good return on a small investment in 1989.
