JD,
You sneaky little thing!
You set that one up on purpose! I saw it coming a mile away - hehe!
I guess it's one on those issues that's relative to place & legislation. Where I'm from, government funded Islamic schools are more lenient whereas privately owned ones tend to be more strict.
Peace!

"would a muslim woman be allowed to teach without a head covering?"
This question seems to be asking if A muslim woman would be allowed to teach. At least one woman who fits this description needs to exist to make this statement true. She does, so your question was answered.
"That is not always the case."
As FHC said, if all you really wanted to do was prove a point then you can just come out and say it instead of beating around the bush. Why even ask a question if you already have the answer that you want? To me, it just seems to support the opinion that your sole purpose for coming to the board is argumentative and attention seeking.

Any organization has the right to put some rules concerning the dress of the staff.
No objection, some assumed special unifom and some times with head cover(nurses, aeroplane`s crew..)and no one refuse that.
But if this rules prevent any one from following his/her religion,we can say that this is a type of
discrimination against the followers of this religion.
using the head cover is not against the non-muslims religions but preventing the head cover is against the muslims women religion,we force her in this case to disobey her God.

Not really... the "agenda" is quite clear, no leading statements. There is just an article posted, kind of like what you do many times. When you post some article about muslims who have poor character, it is quite clear why you are sharing this article.
I just thought it peculiar that you of all people seemed to be beating around the bush and leading in ways in which you have always been so leary of falling into yourself. That's all.
Side note- Since you have a new "buddy" on the board it seems to me like you have lost what little impartiality that you used to have. Not only were you one to point out muslims failings (quite readily) but you also would at least acknowledge when unfair treatment was instituted against muslims. That seems to have been diluted if not disappeared. Again, this is just MY perception. For whatever THAT is worth... :)

I heard that! And you just know I'm not going to let that just pass.
I’m always struck by individuals on this board who seemingly place their common sense out of reach as they vilify the U.S. and the West for its “unfair treatment instituted against muslims”. What nonsense.
The fact is, the West grants Muslims for freedoms – including greater freedom of worship – than their asserted Islamic paradises. Candidly, it grows tiresome to hear the shrill whining of Muslims who complain about “rights” while their nation of origin and/or ideology of compulsion brutally oppresses half the population (women), bans by law Christian churches; supports, harbors and condones terrorism and terrorists who commit mass murder of innocent civilians (often those victims being fellow Muslims). In a word, it’s hypocrisy.
Muslims have donated to the world terrorism an effective means to a religious end.
Terrorism is a vital component of the modern fundamentalist Muslims' religion. And so is propaganda and the familiar claim of innocence and pointing the finger of blame at the West and at Israel. When terrorists instill fear in their enemies through random acts of violence, they have won the psychological war. When terrorists play the victim and quell the international community's will to retaliate, they have won the political war. Isn't it funny how we see all these Muslim "victims" running around with machine guns, complaining of discrimination, whining about being unfairly accused of terrorist bombings, and warning their enemies of the innocent civilians that would be killed in a military reprisal? They justify their murderous acts by claiming to be oppressed by non-Muslims. But if they were truly fighting oppression, they would surely lash out at their own oppressive governments first. On the contrary; they seem to be doing their oppressive government's bidding. When terrorists are given the chance to run their own governments, the first thing they do is lock down their society, remove all human rights, and oppress everyone within their borders with intolerable religious laws and vicious, cruel, and ruthless enforcement. "Oppression", indeed. It's no accident that these patterns are seen over and over again; it's a well-thought-out, effective strategy, and it will continue to succeed unless and until their lies are exposed. These are not random acts perpetrated by insane criminals; they are deliberately orchestrated by well-organized, deeply religious, petrol-funded terrorist organizations, many of whom operate under the guise of Islamic "charities" and receive direct aid from Arab governments and oil companies.

"I heard that!"
Sweet.
"For muslims in America, it is mostly imagined."
Since I am one, I think that I can safely say that SOME is imagined, not all and not that majority of it either. I have personally experienced it myself. It was more on an individual level, not institutionalized discrimination. Alhamdulillah, that is illegal here. I have also had to be the voice of reason for a couple of brothers at times of... let's just say oversesitivity. But this hypervigilance can be seen in some African-Americans and American Indians. Discrimination is experienced and then that makes one more aware of its recurrence. I believe this is what has occurred in the muslim world.
"In this particular case, I believe this woman to be set up to foment discourse in the community."
Yet if a muslim on this board makes this claim about any of the articles that you post, they are considered blind and biased. But if you believe that you are being as objective as possible, then how can I argue with that?

"churlish at best and down right stupid at worst"
Resorting to name calling? OOOOkkkkaaaayyy.
"That is unfortunate but how did this discrimination manifest itself ?"
For me, very close family and friends stopped talking to me bc I was muslim. At least some were open enough to admit this was the cause. Others made it apparent by the fact that before Islam, they hung out with me, would live with me, and would acknowledge my existence. After Islam, they would no longer even say hello. No beatings, though.
"So admit it Dan, in the grand scheme of things, muslims in america have it pretty darned good."
I thought that I made that clear already... "Alhamdulillah, that is illegal here." I'll reword to make it utterly clear if need be. Alhamdulillah, that I live where I can pray when I need, go to juma', go to the masjid, say what I want (mostly), and it is illegal for anyone to try to stop me solely because of my faith. Cool?
"Maybe. Or it could just be part of the wider agenda of islamic imperialism and subjugation of non muslism to the rule of islam."
When muslims state this sentiment, they are paranoid. What does that make you?
You equate wearing a veil with a paraplegic disability and blindness? What are YOU talking about?
"stuck in dogma"
hhhmmmmm.......

"I don't know the details but this doesn't sound like discrimination to me. Is it possible they avoid you because you are overtly religious ? Some people just don't like that."
These people stopped talking to me bc I am muslim. What is discrimination to you?
I don't know what you mean by overtly religious. Thowb/turban wearing? Praying when I need to? Describe someone like you mean and I can compare myself to that.
"Are you saying there is no such agenda or teaching in islam to subjugate the world to islam ?"
Is not the West trying to spread "freedom" and "democracy" through the globe? (Yes, I know I answered a question with a question. I'll just claim it is the Socratic method... maybe.)
"No, please point out to me where I said that."
" Do you really think it appropriate that a teacher of communications should be allowed to teach a subject where the very essence of communications is in body language from behind a shroud ? Oh come off it. Why don't they just switch the lights off and teach in the dark ? Why don't we give lifeguard duty to paraplegics or taxi driving licenses to the blind ?"
