Can My over Garment drag the grown? - Aqilah - 12-01-2003 Assalaamwalaikum uhkti! Glad ur back! I had tried to get on yesturday but could not get in! But glad Ur back. I first want to say everything U gave the sister about her husband is good. May ALlah reward U for the Info. It remind us all of the kindness we should show to our husbands. I have to ask a question! Where is it that I can drag my gown and can I pray in anyway? I love to be covered and I also want to be able to pray in it. I was given 7 garments by a sister who is a truly wonderful sister. and may ALlah rewarded her for her giving.Amin. I have to get them hem but I don't like them short. it was told to me that I should not let them drag. Can U help me to show this muslim where he can read it for his self. Inshallah. I know the brothers can't let theirs touch the ground. But I need to let him read it for his self. and rightly so! Again I'm glad Ur back. keep up the work for us. I look forward to comming in and checking in to see whats on the issues. May Allah give U and all the muslims Jennah. amim.: [img][/img] Can My over Garment drag the grown? - NaSra - 03-14-2005 Asalamalaykum Sister I don't trail my skirts on the floor, and they are really long. I can be covered from head to toe without needing to drag anything on the floor alhamdulilah. Just imagine all the filth and spit thats on the ground that touches your garment...eww. AstaqfuruAllah. Cleaningness is half of Imaan, You can keep yourself pure and still Preserve your modesty inshaAllah. Here are some hadith that contradict with some of the stuff I am saying: Narrated Umm Salamah, Ummul Mu'minin: The slave-mother of Ibrahim ibn AbdurRahman ibn Awf asked Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet (peace_be_upon_him): I am a woman having a long border of clothe and I walk in filthy place; (then what should I do?). Umm Salamah replied: The Apostle of Allah ( peace be upon him) said: what comes after it cleanses it. (Abu Dawud, Book #1, Hadith #0383) Yahya related to me from Malik from Muhammad ibn Umara from Muhammad ibn Ibrahim that the mother of the son of Ibrahim ibn Abd ar-Rahman ibn Awf questioned Umm Salama, the wife of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and said, "I am a woman who wears a long skirt and (sometimes) I walk in dirty places." Umm Salama replied, "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, 'what follows (i.e. clean places) purifies it.' " (Muttawa, Book #2, Hadith #2.4.16) |
