Science cannot even tell me if it is going to rain tomorrow. The closest we get is percentages. A barometer and windsock tell me about as much as the weather man does and these have been around for centuries. Doplar radar and weather stations just tell us what is coming by looking to the west. Easterly wind and rain in the west? Most likely going to rain here tomorrow. What does science actually do anyway? It describes what is already occurring. Magnetic fields and electricity have been around possiblely since the beginning of earth. These were not made only "discovered" like Columbus discovered America. Sometimes these discoveries either prove to be wrong or faulty. Look at atomic weapons. Wow. Something so powerful that it cannot be used. Not really a weapon, more of a bluff.

Cocaine and anphetamines were seen as miracle drugs at the time of discovery. Whoops. Ask doctors about the body. There are tissues and organs in there that they still do not know what they do. Any cures lately? I still get sick from the flu and common colds. Been around for as long as man has been studying medicine. I can get a flu shot. Goody! I can just get a long cold instead of the feverish flu. At least I only have to get it once right? Where did AIDS come from? What about cancer? Apparently everything causes that now.

It is a type of faulty thinking that people have fallen into. More technology and more science equals better. How? There are still wars only with scarier weapons. Do you feel like you have more free time with all the time saving devices? Not me. Study science and you will find out how little it answers and how many more questions it raises.

So if I go off topic, I get called on it. If you go off topic and want to make a point and get called on it, you tell people that they are evading.

What causes these ions to polorize? What makes heat evaporate water? How does chlorophyll get energy from the sun by being green? What ignited the sun? What started the Big Bang? According to the law of inertia, things at rest tend to stay that way. Children are innoculated from some diseases but why not the others? What cannot medicine rid us of these other diseases? Science does not have an answer for everything and never will. A couple hundred years ago people were claiming that science would answer all the questions and there are still questions.

"How about the role of women being nurses, doctors, caregivers for the elderly, science, positions in government, teachers?"

Yes. They do.

Mothers are all of these things as well.

I have noticed the number one country that you use for Islam is Iran. That is a Shi'ite government. I am not. I'm Sunni. What they do, condone, say, or how they act cannot be used in a dialogue with me. I would not use Ireland as a source of information to talk about Scotland. No matter how close people associate them.

No you cannot. If a muslim is telling you that you cannot complare, who are you to tell them that yes you can? The United States claims to be a democracy but the reality is that it is a representative republic. The point I was trying to make about Ireland and Scotland was missed as well. I know little about Scotland. I know little more about Ireland. If I started to compare the two and you said that I could not, I would have to take your word on it due to the obvious fact that you are more privy to information.

Catholics would beg to differ if you claimed that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was the same so that everything they did you claimed the other did as well. Have you done any research on Shi'ite besides what you see on television? There are major schisms between Sunni and Shi'ite. Check it out.

It seems that your vacation let your mind go back it its old thinking pattern, nitpicking the little and not listening to what is being told to you. If you are hear to learn, then why is it that when someone tells you something you say they are wrong? If you know everything already and your mind is made up, then why waste your time?

I purposely did not respond to your request because this is a major claim on your part which must be cleared up before further discussion can continue.

You talk about predicting the weather which is not a science. Science tells us that rain is made up from moisture in the air, thunder is caused by the clash of different polarised ions in the atmosphere coming into contact (not "God" moving his furniture) and lightening is the discharge of electrical build up in the clouds.

.
and how did we get acquainted with science?? who brought is to our knowledge? how did we learn it? I am fully in agreement with u, scinece brought amazaing info for us including embriology for ex. how did we learn it, how did we acquite it? attain it and were able to use it??? how how how???????
