When You Though I Wasn't Looking .. - Zainab - 08-02-2004 WHEN YOU THOUGHT I WASN'T LOOKING (Written by a former child) A message every adult should read, because children are watching you and doing as you do, not as you say. When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you hang my first painting on the refrigerator, and I immediately wanted to paint another one. When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you feed a stray cat, and I learned that it was good to be kind to animals. When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you make my favorite cake for me and I learned that the little things can be the special things in life. When you thought I wasn't looking, I heard you say a prayer, and I knew there is a God I could always talk to and I learned to trust in God. When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you make a meal and take it to a friend who was sick, and I learned that we all have to help take care of each other. When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you give of your time and money to help people who had nothing and I learned that those who have something should give to those who don't. When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you take care of our house and everyone in it and I learned we have to take care of what we are given. When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw how you handled your responsibilities, even when you didn't feel good and I learned that I would have to be responsible when I grow up. When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw tears come from your eyes and I learned that sometimes things hurt, but it's all right to cry.. When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw that you cared and I wanted to be everything that I could be. When you thought I wasn't looking, I learned most of life's lessons that I need to know to be a good and productive person when I grow up. When you thought I wasn't looking, I looked at you and wanted to say, "Thanks for all the things I saw when you thought I wasn't looking." I AM SENDING THIS TO ALL OF THE PEOPLE I KNOW WHO DO SO MUCH FOR OTHERS AND THINK NO ONE EVER SEES. LITTLE EYES SEE A LOT. Each of us (parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, teacher or friend) influence the life of a child. How will you touch the life of someone today? When You Though I Wasn't Looking .. - Muslimah - 08-02-2004 Mash a Allah this is very nice really Mash aAllah, and also so true we think they dont see but they do.. When You Though I Wasn't Looking .. - Shereen - 08-06-2004 Quote: WHENÂ YOU THOUGHT I WASN'T LOOKING masha allah a very beauiful poem sis Zainab.......thanks a ot for sharing I think now that we have become adults......we should act as a role models for our lil brothers/sisters. After all, i saw what & how my mom used to pray..........& learned a lot of things about "why it is important to do the right thing & go to heaven and not always fulfilling ur desires of the heart" May Allah guide us & our generation......Ameen When You Though I Wasn't Looking .. - NaSra - 08-08-2004 Awww That poem was so lovely mashaAllah. Mothers are sensational, their strength amazes me. They are the backbone of our society. They struggle for our success in this life and the hereafter. No love compares to the love of a mother. Without the strength of a mother a family would crumble....from what i've seen anyway. My mother raised 11 of us, I have absolutely no words that could adequately explain how much my mother means to me, and how much she did for each of us. I only pray that Allah rewards her with the highest rank of jennah, she deserves not less, and all mothers. Shereen may Allah reward your mom for setting such a beautiful example for you. May Allah make us all good mothers ameen. If only when I become a mother (inshaAllah one day) and I become 1/2 of what my mother is in whole, I would be extremely happy and blessed. This is a story that welled up tears in my eyes and touched my heart, InshaAllah I'd like to share it with you all. It's not my story but from a islamic site. The Mother's Hands My mother was visiting, she asked me to go shopping with her because she needed a new dress. I don't normally like to go shopping and I'm not a patient person, but we set off for the mall together. We visited nearly every store that carried ladies' dresses, and my mother tried on dress after dress, rejecting them all. As the day wore on, I grew weary. Finally, at our last stop, my mother tried on a lovely blue three-piece dress. The blouse had a bow at the neckline, and as I stood in the dressing room with her, I watched as she tried, with much difficulty, to tie the bow. Her hands were so badly crippled from arthritis that she couldn't do it. Immediately, my impatience gave way to an overwhelming wave of compassion for her. I turned away to try and hide the tears that welled up involuntarily. Regaining my composure, I turned back to tie the bow for her. Our shopping trip was over, but the event was etched indelibly in my memory. For the rest of the day, my mind kept returning to that moment in the dressing room and to the vision of my mother's hands trying to tie that bow. Those loving hands that had fed me, bathed me, dressed me, caressed and comforted me, and, most of all, prayed for me, were now touching me in the most remarkable manner. Later in the evening, I went to my mother's room, took her hands in mine, kissed them and, much to her surprise, told her that to me they were the most beautiful hands in the world. I can only pray that some day my hands, and my heart, will have earned such a beauty of their own. FeeAmanaAllah When You Though I Wasn't Looking .. - Muslimah - 08-09-2004 Mash a Allah girls u r very much correct Intuition the story is so touching Mash aAllah. and we missed u. Alhamdulelah we Muslim girls must realize what a mother mean, we must realize what we owe to them, how we must not prefer freinds company to theirs. Even if she just needs company, nothing more, we must give with no regret. Trule Allah made them also a gate for Jannah. Besides entertainment can be attained from sources u can not imagine.
