Question Regarding Eid.... - christynicole1974 - 11-12-2004 I just wanted to confirm that EID actually starts the day after the new moon is sighted. According to moonsightings.com the moon will be seen in America on November 13, thus Eid will start on the 14th. Is that right? What if the moon is seen during the day on Saturday... does the fasting stop? Little about me: I am a Christian, and my husband a Muslim, we respect and support each oth4er in our holidays (holy-days) ; ) Thanks Christy Question Regarding Eid.... - Muslimah - 11-13-2004 Bismillah Peace Christy I am afraid your question is not really clear. However, I will explain as much as Iunderstood Special committees are assigned in each Muslim country to observe the birth of the crescent on the 29th of each lunar month in order to determine beginning and ending of each one. Special attention of course is given in cases of Ramadan since an important worship depends on that according to Quran. Allah Say what means fast for seeing it and break the fast for seeing it. So they start observing it like one hour before sunset of the 29th. And several committees are assigned for this in different locations of each given country. If all were consensus that it was not observed then the month is completed till 30 days. Other wise it is announced that Eid would be next day. In Egypt Eid is announced Insh aAllah tomorrow Sun 14th May Allah Accept our good deeds. Did I help??? Question Regarding Eid.... - christynicole1974 - 11-14-2004 Thank you.
