Where Is The Most Strangest Or Most Amazing Place - NaSra - 01-03-2005 Asalamalaykum Share your experiences and adventures of all the unusual and Strange places that you have prayed your salat. Please tell us about it , I always enjoy listening to such stories sometimes some of them are really amusing, like one Brother was telling my brother one time when it was time to pray azr he decided to pray salat in a corner in a busy parkinglot and suddenly this man came padding his shoulder asking him, what are you doing? Are you alright? And he was feeling disturbed asking Allah from his heart " please send him away". "Leave me alone please" "Just go". When he finished his salat, he explained to him what he was doing.lol I have a few strange places I have made salat, will share too. And now that we're at it I'd like to ask a question (I just didn't feel like starting a whole new thread solely for this question). Can a woman pray in a public place when its time to pray salat? Keeping in mind that Allah dislikes the one who delays his/her salats. Jezekelah khayr in Advcance Where Is The Most Strangest Or Most Amazing Place - Muslimah - 01-03-2005 Bismillah as salam alykom I prayed Zohr and Asr in Cears store fitting room, in a mall in Dallas FW city. I was in Dallas for 6 weeks, as a person I just dislike shopping. Thus I kept delaying the shopping I have to do including gifts for going back home. Then I decided one morning I will take it in one shot. Took a cab to the mall, thought I d take shorter time, but then Zohr was on, I went to the sales woman and took her permission to say my prayer in the fitting room. Of course she had no idea what Islam is, she said of course u have a bench on which u may sit and do it. I explained I need to stand up and do it. Certainly there was no way I know where Qibla is. Since there were no Muslims at all, I mean sun was already on I couldnt figure out the rising direction. I just went into the fitting room and said Qibla is where Allah Accepts and prayed. Then the task was extended, and I had to come back to the same nice lady and pray Asr as well. Another time, I was here in Egypt attending a wedding in a 5 star hotel where usually no place to pray. I arrived at the venue before Esha, knowing that the time might extend. I just took myself out and asked one of the staff members where I can hide and pray. They took me to an islolated room through the kitchen with all utinsels around me, they locked me in. I finished my prayer then came out Alhamdulelah. About the woman praying in public I m not sure. We treasure our prayer so much masha'Allah so it is truly a good idea to write at bit about them too! When I still lived in Sweden our workingplace had to move to another building for a short while and I fast had to locate somewhere to pray Duhr. Found a little tiny, I wouldn't call it room, I think wardrobe is a more approprite word, so there I prayed among boxes and machines. The first time a college wondered what I was up to, and he was just coming in to see what was going on, when I had finished my prayer, and he said 'Oh it is you!' and said no more. After that I made a little sign and hanged on the door telling everyone, ''Occupied, will be free soon'', and it worked well. Then travelling by car back and forth between Morocco and Sweden always puts you in different situations, but the whole family often prays together sitting in the car. That way also I and my daughter feel comfortable since we don't have to expose ourselves to watchers, not so much anyway. But since one has to turn of the highway and stay at a parkinglot for example there will always be people that go by and wonder ''what on earth are they DOING?'' They don't need to say it! One time when we were just about to start praying at at parkinglot in Germany, a car pulled in front of us and some young men jumped out of the car and started to respond to the call of nature! Now this was a bit too much, so we did not pray there, it felt wrong, so we drove on to the next place to stop. Doing wudu when doing this kind of travelling is also a challenge, people does not understand what you are doing - they look at you as if you are out of your mind or something like that. So life is truly a challenge many times, but it strengten us insha'Allah. What I know women are not supposed to pray out in the open, will try to find a hadith insha'Allah, but is should make sense since the position with the forehead on the ground will surely not make people look away... O I forgot another incident just 2 weeks ago. I had a simultanous interpretation task which usually makes me go to a 5 star hotel where the event is taking place, i work in a booth with mic and headphones. Participants are in the banquate hall. At Zohr Allah Sobhanuh wa Tala made it easy for me as I couldnt find a place to say my prayers. I checked with the staff, at that time participants had a break all went out of the hall. The staff member suggested I hide behind the podium which is a high setting table behind which there was a corner more like a hall in the wall with no possibility of anybody coming to the area. Alhamdulelah I managed to say my prayer. But not sunnah of course just wanted to make the fard.
