Is Bible “word Of God”? - Rehmat - 01-16-2005

Dr. W. Graham Scroggie of Moody Bible Institute (Chicago), one of the most prestigious Evangelical Mission in the world, answering the question: "Yes, the Bible is human, though some, out of zeal which is not according to knowledge, have denied this. Those books have passed through the minds of men, are written in the language of men, were penned by the hands of men, and bear in their style the characteristics of men."

Another erudite Christian scholar, Kenneth Cragg, the Anglican Bishop of Jerusalem, says in his book, "The Call of the Minaret":

"Not so the New Testament . . . There is condensation and editing; there is choice, reproduction and witness. The Gospels have come through the mind of the Church behind the authors. They represent experience and history."

If words have any meaning, do I need to add another word of comment to prove my case? No! But the professional propagandists, after letting the cat out of the bag, still have the face to try to make their readers believe that they have proved beyond the shadow of any doubt that the Bible is the "irrefragable Word of God."

Their semantic gymnastics — equivocating, and playing with words is amazing!

Both these Christian scholars confirm in the clearest language humanly possible that the Bible is the handiwork of man, all the while pretending that the are proving to the contrary. An old Arab saying goes: "If such are the priests, God bless the congregation!”

"... seeing they see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand." (Matthew 13:13)

Al-Qur'an, the Holy Book of God, also condemns this mulish mentality:

DEAF, DUMB AND BLIND. THEY WILL RETURN TO THE PATH.

Bismillah,

JohnDoe, you made me [Image: laugh.gif] this morning, the second part of your statement is so obvious, what you are up to - but since we all are explaining this on other threads you can keep this [Image: happy.gif] , but if this makes you feel [Image: biggrin.gif] and happy, so be it!

Quote:no, the bible is not the word of god and neither is the qu'ran.

Hmmmmmm!!!!

The phrase <b>Word of God</b> has different meaning to different people. For example:

1. All Christians believe (or made to believe) that <b>Bible is Word of God</b>. This belief is even held by Dr. Rober Funk, who after his 6-year study found out that 80% of statements referred to Jesus, were actually written by unknown persons to serve the Church.

2. All Muslims believe that Holy Qur'an is <b>Word of Allah</b>. Allah, even challenged the Jews of Medinnah to come-up with <b>one Verse, in Arabic, similar to the scholarship of His word</b>. Hundreds of non-Muslim scholars too, have come to the conclusion that the Prophet (pbuh) could not have written such a <b>Master-piece - full of ethics, social justic, politics and scientific discoveries</b>.

3. An overwhelming majority of Jews believe that Talmud is <b>Word of G-d</b> - but then one reads it, he/she finds that God could not be that <b>hateful, and racist. No wonder, an Israeli Jew, Dr. Israel Shahak has called his own Holy Book: [The most hateful piece of literature in the world, which cannot contribute any good to the humanity</b>.

Bismillah,

Hi JohnDoe,

true so true, let's stick to the subject... so the Bible contain Torah, Old Testament and New Testament, right? Can we stick to them, since the thread is about it?

I think we all by now understand what you believe, you have not hidden it. That is honest.

I have tried before to get you to answer what 'you are up to' and you deny being up to anything.

But you know, the essence in Islam is the Qur'an, and this is what we all love to learn and discuss about here. It is our blood running round in our veins. Don't you think it is BORING to listen to and read about this, over and over again? I truly try to consider how you might feel, but of course I cannot fully, but trying anyway.

Why John do you bother? We will not change insha'Allah, Islam is our backbone, is it you that are in for a change? [Image: smile.gif]

Bismillah,

Hi JohnDoe,

I see, you want to make it EASY for yourself, put everything in a neat 'package', then you think you know them all. I think you are 'lazy'... you want to take the shortest way out.

<i>''But hey, that is just me and a few million others. ''</i> So we beat you with some millions...

<i>''This is similar except you get a dialogue with the people you are "watching".</i> So are you trying to tell me that you find us nice to have a dialogue with? It would be nicer if you could stop watching us and join us instead, there is always room for more, THEN we would have a lot to dialogue about...

Bismillah,

Well, John, that is one thing one will never know for sure when taking the shortcut - is it not so? Laziness can be a chimera ...

Bismillah,

As I said - your choice
John - given to you by your Creator whether or not you admit it or appreciate it or understand it - but it is a fact. What a GIFT!

Quote:Choice does not exist in an islamic world. I would be killed as a heretic, blasphemer or a fornicator or for worshipping my lightstand. And that is a fact. What a gift indeed, return to sender.

Have you been to some Islamic country - Or just hiding inside your bunker reading answering-islam website? Would you believe a Nun, Karen Armstorng, who wrote that during the last 1400 years hardly 100 people were killed for blasphemy. Don't you have less chance of being killed for that <b>SIN</b> than Israel Fund lottery? [Image: wub.gif]

Bismillah,

John, you are not correct in your assumptions, but to your 'stubborness' I can do nothing. I do hope your inner wish one day will be to see the Truth and that it will shine through and stand before you. And then He will be there for you.

''Except those who repent and make amends and openly declare (the Truth): To them I turn; for I am Oft-returning, Most Merciful.''
The Qur'an 2:160

''But those who do wrong but repent thereafter and (truly) believe,- verily thy Lord is thereafter Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.''
The Qur'an 7:153

Bismillah,

First of all I must apologize to mod since we are a bit out of subject here, just trying to end this thread, but it went a bit astray...

John, our assumptions were pointing at what you wrote in the earlier post, but I did not quote it, and it was ''Choice does not exist in an islamic world. I would be killed as a heretic, blasphemer or a fornicator or for worshipping my lightstand. And that is a fact. What a gift indeed, return to sender. ''

Why do you assume you would be doing all those bad things if you were a true believer? And do you truly believe that what you describe is the daily life of most Muslims? It sounds like you describe people that do not believe in their hearts and do not fear Him at all. When people find the Truth in their heart, they will be ABLE to distinguish so much easier between what IS right and wrong. You look so negatively on this or is it just Islam that awakens these feelings? If you are a positive person, if you already try to do the right things and avoid what is wrong and not good for you or people around you, then why is Islam so frightening? The guidance, His guidance will be so clear that your heart will always direct itself to the right path, the right way to do things. It will come so much easier. And you will gain the understanding why you are here and why you always try to do the right things. This all hangs together, belief - beingness - doing right - future.

''I am open to the truth. ''

Sounds good. Take your steps from that position. If I may add - with an open and sincere heart and mind too.
