Fox News Kidnap Situation - Curious Christian - 08-31-2006 So what do you think about the Fox News reporters who were told that the either had to convert to Islam or die? I am sure you have heard, they "converted" to Islam and then as soon as they were free renounced their conversion. So... A) IS this sort of thing accepted by Islam or was this just a fringe group operating outside of the boundaries? B) What do you think of their "conversion"? C) Since they "professed" Islam and then renounced should they now be under the Sharia law and be put to death for leaving Islam? Fox News Kidnap Situation - Dan - 09-01-2006 Bismillah "Let there be no compulsion in religion" (2:256) apostacy has been discussed many, many times here. Fox News Kidnap Situation - Dan - 09-05-2006 Bismillah Could you rephrase the question because I am not exactly sure what you are asking? sorry But if I am understanding correctly, then that would fall under oppression which is major sin. But still rephrase just to make sure I am understanding correctly, please? Fox News Kidnap Situation - Curious Christian - 09-05-2006 Quote:Bismillah Yeah... what I meant was this..... Since the people who kidnapped these men put guns to their head and forced them to convert to Islam, which you say is a sin, what is their punishment from A) Allah B) Other Muslims. Fox News Kidnap Situation - Dan - 09-05-2006 Bismillah Unfortunately, I do not possess that knowledge. (Not really an issue here, you know?) Insha'Allah someone knows... Fox News Kidnap Situation - AlShamms - 09-06-2006 Peace..... Interesting question CC. I would like to know that as well. I mean, we have read the penality for those who renounce Islam after believing. What is the penality for forcing someone to convert. Dan has shown us 2:256. So what is the punishment for breaking that commandment....or is it a commandment? Shamms Fox News Kidnap Situation - wel_mel_2 - 09-06-2006 Bismillah: Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) has said: “I shall plead on the day of judgment on behalf of a disbeliever who was harmed or whose due right was diminished or if more than bearable pressure was exerted on him or if something was taken from him without his consent by a believer.” Ibn Masood narrated that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) has said, “I shall claim on behalf of the disbelievers on the Day of Judgment whosoever bothered a disbeliever living in Islamic state, When I am the claimant, I shall be the winner .” And since the punishment of such person was not mentioned, it means to me that it could be something unimaginable. And Allah knows best. hope this helps insha'Allah. Salam Wael.
