In Islam, we should not base our belief on sources which we cannot verify one hundred percent. The only fact that we can certainly establish is that it was put there by Prophet Ibrahim and Isma’eel (peace be upon them both) by the order of Almighty Allah, and the purpose of it was to indicate the beginning of Tawaf (Circumambulation of the Ka`bah). i agree with this just have some questions regarding the following hadeeth Quote:4. Ibn `Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) quoted the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) as saying: “Touching them both [the Black Stone and Ar-Rukn Al-Yamani] is an expiation for one’s sins.” (At-Tirmidhi) what is ar rukn al yamani? and can our sin be expiated by touching the stone? well pplz will misinterpret it and say "ooh this haddeth affirms our sin to be expiated then woow, we do sin touch it expiated, sin, then touch. Is there anything about the black stone in Quranic ayat? i would love to see. well i aksed these questions becoz to get unbiased info eveyhting about Islam so that i can pass my message to my non muslim friends, if i contradict myself then it wont help i know. wassalam Black stone of the Kabbah - Dan - 12-06-2006 Bismillah As Salam alaikum "ar rukn al yamani" is the stone at the corner that preceeds the Black Stone when one is making tawaf. So if one starts tawaf (at the Black Stone, of course), there are two corners that are passed and then ar rukn al yamani then the Black Stone. Make sense? We as muslims are also informed that prayer absolves sins from one prayer to the next, as does juma from one juma' to the next, as does umrah from one umrah to the next. Also saying subhannallahi wa bihamdi 100x absolves the days sins even if they are as "numerous as the foam on the sea." This does not mean that we can do whatever we want. Remember the keys to taubah are sincerity and the intention to no longer commit that sin again. Insha'Allah I helped rather than hindered. Yes dear brother it makes sense :D Quote:We as muslims are also informed that prayer absolves sins from one prayer to the next, as does juma from one juma' to the next, as does umrah from one umrah to the next. Jazkallah brother :D Black stone of the Kabbah - Dan - 12-08-2006 Bismillah As Salam alaikum I understand what you mean. I guess I would ask them since the stone is already completely black how can they be sure that their sins were "absorbed." As Salam alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatu Black stone of the Kabbah - prodigy - 12-09-2006 Assalamu alaykumm :) Jazakallah khair for the illumination brother wassalam |
