Life’s Good in the Islamic Paradise of Somalia - Ruggedtouch - 12-07-2006 In another illustration of the compassion and respect for human rights to be found in the shari'ah law, the emerging paradise of Somalia is requiring it’s minions to pray as if your life depends on it else your torso will part ways with your head . Quote:MOGADISHU, Somalia - Residents of a southern Somalia town who do not pray five times a day will be beheaded, an Islamic courts official said Wednesday, adding the edict will be implemented in three days. Wonderful, just wonderful. This would actually be comical if not for the utterly tragic consequences. Hooray for the 7th century... I guess. Life’s Good in the Islamic Paradise of Somalia - Faith Hope Charity - 12-07-2006 In the name of God - Father Son Holy Spirit May the peace of our Lord, Jesus Christ, be with you. Prepare yourself, Ruggedtouch - one day you & I will most likely be living under Sharia Law. If not us, then most definitely our descendents! If you ask me, there's only one thing worse than Sharia Law... SECULARISM!!! Muslims living according to the teachings of Allah & His prophet (PBUH) is way better than Atheists who either deny the existence of God or make themselves out to be gods! Oh dear! What's the world coming to  Life’s Good in the Islamic Paradise of Somalia - NaSra - 12-07-2006 Another lie!! Whenever an Islamic government appears and is about to blossom, kafirs can't help but take a stab and try to make the shariah look horrible. This Islamic government who is on it's baby feet has done nothing but bring somalia order, peace, law and most of all people adhering to the sunnah and quraan. Which is the very thing that the kafirs fear. Somalia had a war since the late 80's and everything have been tried to bring the somali people together, tribalism and nationalism didn't work. La ilaha ilal lah is working now alhamdulilah. The country is getting safer everyday, it was only this islamic government that managed to persuade people to put down their guns and come together for Allahs sake. Keep spreading your lies and propaganda at the end of the day we all know that what the west fears is Muslims uniting under the banner of la ilaha ilal lah, and wherever in the world muslims are going back to Islam, that is a defeat for the kafirs, because they know that when Muslims go back to their deen they'll gain strength and glory will return to Muslims. Kafirs, the only thing I have to say to you is pray silently for the Muslims loss or spread lies, Islam will come back to its honourable state until it reaches every door on earth. The Somali people are sick of nationalism and tribalism they're now turning to Allah and Islam. May Allah swt bless this Islamic government, help it flourish and blossom. May Allah destroy nationalism and tribalism and keep the flag of Islam la ilaha ilalah always high. ameen ameen One comment to the article about praying: Those who don't fear their lord, will have to fear his creatures. Life’s Good in the Islamic Paradise of Somalia - SisterJennifer - 12-07-2006 Quote:The world is progressing. Religion is being overtaken by humanism and secularism. By whom? The same humanitarians who are running guantanamo Bay? The same ones from Abu Gharaib? The same soldiers who kill and rape women and even murder little children? This is progression and humanitarianism? I dont think the trouble with the world is that there is too much religion, the problem is that ignorance is prevalient. In religion, and otherwise. Posted by JohnDoe: Quote:It always bring a wry smile to my face when the muslims on here jump up and down at any indiscretion made by "the west". Well, I think JohnDoe’s comments speak volumes about those who flail their pom poms in support of these totalitarian regimes yet these are the same people who explicitly choose not to live under the strictures of these fear societies. By the way SisterJennifer, unless I’m mistaken, you just happen to live in the U.S. which provides you uncounted opportunities simply not available in Islamist/muslim nations. Your credibility is clearly suspect as it applies to this topic. You may well champion the merits of a crushingly oppressive and theocratic government yet in the U.S. you are protected (by law) from the very atrocities, indignations and injustices imposed by those orthodox islamic regimes you endorse. Safely ensconced in the West, you have no real expectation of being the victim of an “honor killing” or an acid attack or a suicide bomber attacking you. You have no real expectation of being forced into a marriage to a relative or a similar agreement. You have no real expectation of being the victim of religious discrimination. The West protects your right to practice your religion of choice without compulsion. The very rights Moslems demand for themselves, they explicitly deny non-Moslems living in “Muslim Lands”™. It is truly comical to read the posts of those who demand rights and freedoms be granted to them while they cynically and explicitly refuse to extend those same rights to others. Where is your killer instinct as it applies to the Islamist terrorists in Iraq? Oddly, I see no Muslims doing much of anything as they are bombed and bloodied by other Muslims. I see no Muslims organizing to rid themselves of the terrorist element. Worse yet, I see no Muslims doing much of anything to improve their situation. Unfortunately, you offer not just circular, nonsensical arguments but viciously circular, nonsensical arguments and few seem to challenge them. This may all be obvious to most, but it appears that you have difficulty separating fact from fantasy. Life’s Good in the Islamic Paradise of Somalia - Ruggedtouch - 12-07-2006 Quote:Another lie!! No offense taken though, in spite of your intended personal attack with that word. So let’s see. It’s the kafirs fault that sharia looks horrible? Oh my, aren’t we the aggrieved victim. I suppose the atrocities that occur under a sharia have only to do with the kafir and are not connected with Moslems. How lucky you are to be the perpetual victim. Nothing is your fault, you accept no responsibility for yourselves… it’s always someone else’s fault. Let’s consider the above for a moment to reflect on the utter absurdity. Human rights atrocities committed in countries with Muslim majorities, ruled by Muslims under the strictures of a sharia are not representative of Islam but are actually the fault of the kafir?? This begs the question? What countries with Muslim majorities and ruled by Muslims are representatives of Islam?? The obvious answer is: Societies as a whole are clearly reflective of the broad interests and aspirations of their constituents. Societies mirror their constituent populations and as such are inclusive of their behavior, be it for power or destruction or material gains, that people are an integration of their politics and their religions and their traditions and their desires, etc. What we see in Islamist/muslim nations is a true reflection of the constituent population. The reflection we see from Islamist/muslim fear societies is a grotesque and distorted reflection of poverty, superstition, ignorance and fear. Quote:One comment to the article about praying: Those who don't fear their lord, will have to fear his creatures. Hallelujah, Sister. Truer words have never been spoken. The victims of Bali, Madrid, Spain, London, New York, Beslan and the countless other locations where innocent people have been cut down to the droning intonation of Allahu Akbar followed by a bright orange flash accompanied by red hot shrapnel flying through the air can attest to that. So here's my prayer - "dear god(s) please protect me from those who follow you". Life’s Good in the Islamic Paradise of Somalia - Faith Hope Charity - 12-08-2006 Quote:Erm, no. While it’s true that stealth sharia is happening (muslims certainly are bring their intolerance and self serving, supremacist ideals to our shores), there also is an evolving hardening to the arrogant demands made by muslims. We have a strong secular (more on that in a moment), Constitution that will shield us from the inequities, hate and dhimmi status for non-muslims that is a core component of islam. Quote:If you ask me, there's only one thing worse than Sharia Law... SECULARISM!!! Oh dear! What's the world coming to  No dear, there is nothing worse than Sharia, period! The principles and values embodied in Islam were relevant to medieval Arabia. In those brutal and nasty times, a brutal and nasty theocratic order was effective in cohering illiterate, warring tribes and providing the draconian stability to build an empire. Which is what happened. But times have changed—much of the world is now civilized, free, technologically capable, literate, and tolerant. Until Islam meets with a massive reform and enlightenment movement, it will continue to be unfit for the modern world, and we will continue to see a steady uptick in the devastating terror attacks of Islamic jihad. To follow up from above, In the U.S., we are by definition a secular nation -- there was considerable debate among the Founding Fathers about the entire god issue-- and the constitution is quite secular. One can argue far better that having come from theocracies themselves The Founding Fathers were very much aware of the dangers of blending religion and government. Even if they personally believed -- they purposely ratified a constitution that was totally secular in nature (and intent). They clearly did not wish to eradicate religion which is why they enacted a muzzle on government to keep religious expression free. However, the result of this by definition means the gov't cannot exalt one religion over another. Keep Christianity in culture, whether or not Christianity is dominant or not, but do not allow the government to assert it or any other religion over the other. The only way to do that is to be neutral on the issue of religion at all. As the country does become more diversified and embraces more religious beliefs (including none) the Constitution is designed to evolve to include those concerns. The Founding Fathers would, I believe, note their legal design has worked quite well. Quote:Muslims living according to the teachings of Allah & His prophet (PBUH) is way better than Atheists who either deny the existence of God or make themselves out to be gods! Really? Put your convictions to the test, then. Try living in any muslim nation of your choice. Try this on for size: arranged marriage, "honor" killing, second class citizenship, reduced rights, etc., etc. Post your results. Continuing - Your comment in connection with Atheists is insulting, absurd and wrong. If you think otherwise, imagine this: Tomorrow, it is discovered for certain there is no god. Would such information suddenly cause you to murder people? If you answer no, then god isn't needed. If you answer yes, then you are corrupt and immoral and that is your personality fracture, not morality's weakness. Morality isn't the province of Judaism or Christianity or Islam. Whatever did we do before religion? How is it we are here despite our ancestors total lack of moral compass? Plenty of civilizations who never heard of the religious myths operated under the same rules and codes of behavior and they did just fine-- in fact, better in many cases. Research a king of India named Asoka -- probably one of the greatest rulers of all time who established public education, functional welfare, medical support, etc. And tell me, why is it we see rudimentary social structures in animals that don't really have any special creation? Why do higher apes adhere to "moralities" in terms of not blindly killing one another? I suppose you must believe that the gods have touched them as well. Interestingly, I would like to see anyone use the primary Judeo gods as a role model for moral behavior. Just make a list of the things Yahweh or Allah have done, and then go on and try to live according to their morality. They are the example after all, right? Morality is both transitory and fully natural in its source. Take gods away tomorrow and humans would behave pretty much like they do with gods in place. We are a mixture of selfishness and cooperation and it serves us pretty well. Most people do behave morally. It's you wonderful religious folks who have a problem with moral behavior Life’s Good in the Islamic Paradise of Somalia - Faith Hope Charity - 12-09-2006 Hi Ruggedtouch, Thanks for your post! Considering this isn't the time or place to discuss Catholicism, I'm not going to argue with you, but I'll just say this... It has been a constant teaching of the Church that God has inscribed the Natural Moral Law (as opposed to Divine Revelation) on every human's heart, therefore, we're all able to discern good from evil regardless of our religious beliefs (cf. St Paul's letter to the Romans). This is why Catholicism teaches that Heaven isn't reserved for Christians only, but rather for anybody who lives a decent, ethical life according to their conscience (we're obliged to form our conscience correctly though & not remain ignorant). For lack of a better analogy, faith in the Blessed Trinity & dogmas of the Church is like flying from Australia to the USA rather than travelling by foot - it's a shortcut :) John Paul II wrote a brilliant encyclical called "Veritatis Splendor". Do yourself a favor & read it :) You don't necessarily have to agree with our doctrines, but at least understand them before you reject them. Peace & blessings! P.S. I live in a predominantly Muslim neighbourhood with a minority of Christians & I'm glad to report that we co-exist wonderfully together! We both practice our faiths openly & publicly... which is the way it should be all over the world... ideally! Faith Hope Charity... Openness Acceptance Equality. |
