The Sh'ites - abdulwalee - 03-12-2007 recomendened reading on this issue A Glimpse into the Shee’ah AUTHOR: Shaikh Saalih Al-Fawzaan SOURCE: Lamhah ‘anil-Firaq-id-Daalah (pg. 38-39) PRODUCED BY: Al-Ibaanah.com The Shee’ah are those who have split off and taken sides with the Members of the Prophet’s Household (Ahlul-Bayt). Originally, the word tashayyu’ (splitting into factions) meant: Following and Aiding (someone). Allaah says: “And verily from his (Nooh’s) shee’ah (i.e. those who followed his way) was Ibraaheem.” [surah As-Saaffaat: 83] Meaning: Ibraaheem was from his followers and among the supporters of his Religion. Then afterward, this word began to be applied to this deviant sect that claims to be followers of the Members of the Household, which consists of ‘Alee bin Abee Taailb (radyAllaahu ‘anhu) and his offspring. They allege that ‘Alee (radyAllaahu ‘anhu) deserved to be commissioned with the Khilaafah after the Messenger (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), and that Abu Bakr, ‘Umar, ‘Uthmaan and the Companions (in general) oppressed ‘Alee, usurping the Khilaafah from him. This is what they claim. But they are lying in this matter since the Companions unanimously agreed on giving the pledge of allegiance (bay’ah) to Abu Bakr. And amongst these Companions was ‘Alee himself, who pledged his allegiance to Abu Bakr, and thereafter to ‘Umar and then ‘Uthmaan. So this means that in reality, they (i.e. the Shee’ah) hold ‘Alee to be deceitful! They also deem all of the Companions to be disbelievers except for a few amongst them. And they have turned to invoking curses on Abu Bakr and ‘Umar, labeling them as the “Two idols of Quraish” From their beliefs and practices is that: They go to extremes with regard to the Imaams from the Members of the Household, giving them the right to legislate laws and abrogate rulings (in Islaam) because they claim that the Qur’aan is distorted and deficient. This is to the point that they have resorted to taking their Imaams as lords besides Allaah. So they have built tombs over their graves and erected shrines for them, making Tawaaf around them, presenting sacrificial animals to them and swearing oaths to them! The Shee’aah have split up into further denominations, some less dangerous than others and some worse than others. Amongst these denominations are the Zaydees, the Raafidees, the Isma’eelis, the Faatimees, the Qaraamitees and so on and so forth – a large amount of groups and numerous denominations. So it is like this – everyone who abandons the truth will not cease to be upon differing and division. Allaah says: “So if they believe in the same thing you believe (i.e. Prophet and Companions), then they are rightly-guided. But if they turn away, then they are only in divided opposition (amongst themselves). So Allaah will suffice for you against them. And He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower.” [surah Al-Baqarah: 137] So whoever abandons the truth will be tested with falling into falsehood, deviation and division, which all lead to no other result except destruction, and we seek refuge in Allaah! The Shee’ah have split up amongst themselves into numerous sects and denominations, and likewise the Qadariyyah. The Khawaarij have also split up into various denominations (amongst themselves), such as: The Azaariqah, the Hurooriyyah, the Najdaat, the Safriyyah and the Ibaadiyyah. Amongst them are those who are extreme in their beliefs and amongst them are those who are less than that. The Shi'a sect By explaining the methodology of the ones who deviate from the true path, one can learn what the true path is... Sunni is not a sect in it's self but rather an ascription. so usually an ignorant person may say "Are you sunni or Shia Not understanding the issue. A muslim must be a sunni which is to follow the way of the Prophet's Sunnah. But others view these terms to mean a sect Sunni meaning Not Shiate.. This is incorrect. I hope this can be helpful to all interested in this issue.... The Sh'ites - reepicheep - 03-12-2007 abdulwalee wrote: > A muslim must be a sunni If Shiites aren't Muslim, then what are they??? Many Shi'ites are ignorant of what they have been taught of deviance against Allah's religion, But there are some of them who know of the reprehensable things they teach. thus some of the Ulema have read their books and made takfeer of them due to the kufr of that which is contained in these books and if The Muslim nation have even the least bit of Gheerah(jelousy) for Allah's deen they would know that the shi'a if they aren't kafirs at least they are guilty of innovation in Islam. which if Not careful could lead to Kufr. So I dont make takfeer of any Individuals, But the Scholars who have insight into these affairs have already writen extensivly on this issue. Like Ibn Taymiyah.... As Salaamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa Barakathu The Sh'ites - reepicheep - 03-13-2007 During this years Ashura/Arbain festival in Iraq, many Sunni suicide bombers targeted the Shiite pilgrims who attended the festival, resulting in the deaths of a thousand or more pilgrims. Since Sunnis believe Shiites are infidels and kuffar, then I assume these attacks were all done in accordance with Islamic law? Is it true that any Sunni muslim who dies while slaughtering or attempting to slaughter Shiites is a martyr who is guaranteed a place in heaven? The Sh'ites - abdulwalee - 03-13-2007 Quote:During this years Ashura/Arbain festival in Iraq, many Sunni suicide bombers targeted the Shiite pilgrims who attended the festival, resulting in the deaths of a thousand or more pilgrims. Since Sunnis believe Shiites are infidels and kuffar, then I assume these attacks were all done in accordance with Islamic law?No Thats not true in that case. The Pure and clear Islam (Following the Qur'an, the Sunnah (way) of Muhammad, May Allaah Raise His Rank and Grant Him Peace upon the understanding of the Prophet's Companions and those scholars who inherited knowledge from them) is far removed from the modern-day political agenda of terrorist factions who shroud communism and revolutionary concepts with Islam. However, as prophesized by Muhammad (May Allaah Raise His Rank and Grant Him Peace), a group would arise called the 'khawaarij' (Renegades) and this group has terrorized Muslim socities for centuries and in recent times targeted Western countries. Whoever kills a soul it is as if he killed all of mankind. Killing in this way can never be excepted. The people who did these act of terror are not acting in accordance to islamic teachings weather they be Sunni or Shi'ites But understanding why people become extreemist go's back to the enemy of banee Adam... As-Shaaytan... also these so-called festivals are an innovation and immitation of the Kufaa. and thoes who are running around killing people in Iraq without right are also deviants so what can you do. It's all a part of Fitnah. which was mentioned by the Last Messenger, Muhammad when He said "The fitnah will come from there" meaning Iran and Iraq. The Sh'ites - reepicheep - 03-13-2007 So, under the Shariah, it is perfectly legal for Shiites to celebrate their festivals, even though Sunnis disaproved of the festivals. Correct? In other words, it is not a crime, under Islamic law, for a person to be Shiite and to engage in celebrations or activities which Sunnis consider to be innovations. Under Saddam Hussein, Iraqi Shiites were not allowed to celebrate their festivals. By persecuting Shiites, Saddam was committing a great crime under Islamic law. Therefore, Sunnis believe it was a good thing when the Sunni government of Iraq was overthrown and replaced with the current government, where all Iraqis (whether Sunni, Shiite, Christian, Jewish, or other) are equal. Correct? The Saudi Arabian government (as well as many other Middle Eastern governments) persecute Shiites and prevent them from practicing their religion. So, Sunnis believe it would be a good thing if the Sunni government in Saudi Arabia was overthrown and replaced with a government where Shiites were free to practice their religion. Correct? The Sh'ites - Curious Christian - 03-13-2007 So what do shites teach that differs from sunnis? The Sh'ites - reepicheep - 03-13-2007 > So what do shites teach that differs from sunnis? Short answer: Shiites have a person equivalent to the Pope, so (roughly speaking) Shiites are like Catholics and Sunnis are like Protestants. For a slightly longer answer, check out the following summary which I posted on another website a few years ago ("IOL Watcher" is me): The diifference between Sunnis and Shiites. For a loooooong explaination which is both very fascinating and very depressing... check out the cover story from the March 5, 2007 issue of Time Magazine: You can find the cover story here: Behind the Sunni-Shi'ite Divide The Sh'ites - wel_mel_2 - 03-14-2007 Bismillah: I would like to repeat what I’ve said many times ago regarding this issue. It is Prohibited in Islam to make sects and divisions, The Qur’an clearly says: "As for those who divide their religion and break up into sects, thou hast no part in them in the least: their affair is with Allah: He will in the end tell them the truth of all that they did." [Al-Qur’an 6:159] In this verse God Almighty says that one should disassociate himself from those who divide their religion and break it up into sects. All the Prophets of God were nothing but MUSLIMS not Sunni, not Shi’ah. The Prophet Muhammad pbuh did say that "My Ummah will be split up into seventy-three sects." But he did not say that Muslims should be active in dividing themselves into sects. The Qur’an commands us not to create sects. Those who follow the teachings of the Qur’an and authentic Hadith, and do not create sects are the people who are on the true path. And any sane person who read the Qur’an and the teaching of Prophet Muhammad pbuh will immediately realize that Shi’ah are not following the true path. The Prophet also once said that "My Ummah will be fragmented into seventy-three sects, and all of them will be in Hell fire except one sect." The companions asked Allah’s messenger which group that would be. Where upon he replied, "It is the one to which I and my companions belong." So simply following the footsteps of our beloved Prophet pbuh and his companions leads us to Paradise Insh a Allah. Salam. Wael. |
