FUNNY, ISN'T IT? - wel_mel_2 - 03-15-2007 Bismillah: ----------- - Funny how a $20 bill looks so big when you take it to the Mosque, but so small when you take it to the market. - Funny how long it takes to do Zikr for an hour, but how quickly a team plays 60 minutes of basketball. - Funny how long a couple of hours spent at the Mosque are, but how short they are when watching a movie. - Funny how we can't think of anything to say when we pray, but don't have difficulty thinking of things to talk about to a friend. - Funny how we get thrilled when a baseball game goes into extra innings, but we complain when a "Tarahvi" during Ramadhan is longer than the regular time. - Funny how hard it is to read a Para in the Quran, but how easy it is to read 100 pages of a best selling novel. - Funny how people want to get a front seat at any game or concert, but scramble to get a back row at mosque so that they can scramble out fast. - Funny how we need 2 or 3 weeks advance notice to fit a Mosque event into our schedule, but can adjust our schedule for other events at the last moment. - Funny how hard it is for people learn a simple Preaching well enough to tell others, but how simple it is for the same people to understand and repeat gossip. - Funny how we believe what the newspaper says, but question what the Quran says. - Funny how everyone wants to go to heaven provided they do not have to believe, or to think, or to say, or do anything. - Funny how you can send a thousand 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding Allah, people think twice about sharing. FUNNY, ISN'T IT? Are you laughing? Are you thinking? Give thanks to Allah for He is good & Mercifull! By Sister Zarina SOURCE FUNNY, ISN'T IT? - reepicheep - 03-15-2007 Yes, it is funny, but not for the reasons you think. It's obvious (from the references to baseball, basketball and other cultural events) that the original of this email was about the bible and church. Someone has taken the original post and changed all occurances of bible and church to koran and mosque. For those of you who are interested, a simple web search will allow you to find the original "Christian" version of this message. This is the second time this week a Muslim poster on IslamMessage has posted a message like this. Interesting. Looks like some muslims are attempting to imitate the Kuffar. Isn't it some sort of crime, under Islamic law, to imitate the Kuffar? FUNNY, ISN'T IT? - Muslimah - 03-15-2007 Bismillah salam reepi, You will be surprised, I agree with u on this concept. If this reminder is really originally adjusted from a Christain source so is the other one, I fully agree with u. Because Alhamdulelah, we have enough reminder sources to use that could last us forever. Actully I read this same reminder long time ago on an email, I didnt see it as such, didnt feel it as such, may be the only word that may fit the description u say is the word a Preaching. We dont preach in Islam, but we do Dawa. But the intention is good, and we are not imitating the Kufar. Thank u reepi for being concerned. The posted would be imitating the kufar if he/she was calling to join parties where alcohol is served even for a good cause, or to join a church function for example just to introduce oneself as fiting with the community..etc. This is what imitating the kufar is, not posting a message calling to give time and effort to reading Quran and praying. Unless u read the Quran and go to Masjed reepi. :) FUNNY, ISN'T IT? - Dan - 03-16-2007 Bismillah "It's obvious (from the references to baseball, basketball and other cultural events)" Yes... obviously bc no muslims know about these things... they only know of fubol and falafel, right? Not saying that this was not first christian message, just pointing out that the reason you claim it as christian is kind of bogus. |
