God Has Called Me... - radiyah - 11-16-2004 Alsalam 'alaykom Dear shameem i gave the right to myself to edit your post take care while writing the name of Allah, write the first letter in capital letter. Salam God Has Called Me... - NaSra - 01-17-2005 Asalamalaikum I can soooo relate to you. Ever since I found out that music was haram,I've been struggling because I really enjoyed listening to music. Then I quit that and also I used to dismiss the fact that music was haram,by allowing myself to listen to Arbic music, since the singers are muslim. I also listened to music without mature content, and others that I didn't understand like Indian or latino. However, I decided to stay true to myself, so I don't listen to it now alhamdulilah. Besides Nasheed just beats them all!!!!! It's always important to remember the consequences of our actions and have faith in the blessings of Allah. Not to mention busying yourself and substituiting it for Qur'an. Anyway read this, it truly made me think: Abdullaah Ibn Abbas (radiallahu anhu) said: "You who commit a sin, do not feel secure about the results, for what goes along with the sin is more serious than the sin itself. Your lack of shame before the angels, who witness you when you commit the sin, is more serious than the sin itself. Your laughter when you sin, as you forget the punishment of Allah is more serious than the sin itself. Your delight if you get a chance to sin, is more serious than the sin itself. Even your disappointment, if you miss a chance to sin is more serious than the sin itself." The Prophet (PBUH) said Jannah is an invaluable gift and unless man gives the sacrifice of his life and wealth, he will not become eligible for entering it. (Tuhfatul Ahwadhi). May Allah help you all in your endeavour to worship him. May He bless us all with the strength of character to overcome the whisperings of shaytan, because God knows we need it. Ameeen Ya rabal alamiin Sis JZK God Has Called Me... - lifutushi - 02-15-2005 Assalamu'alaykum..... i'm always into music... especially songs from Raihan.... luv their songs.... anyway, i do think music is a matter of Furu' and not Usul. of course we can say that music with bad lyrics is haram. also those that considered Lagha. but some music are good, my little cousins learnt Asma'ul Husna through a song, and the same thing goes to names of the prophets etc. let just say that music is a tool. like the knife, whether you use it to cook or to kill someone, the goods and bads depend on how you're using it. the same thing goes to music, it just a tool. so use your intellect to differentiate between good and bad. Well said! God Has Called Me... - Anyabwile - 10-04-2006 Hi everyone, interesting to see how my words are still being used despite me now being an apostate for the last year and a half or so. This was taken down when i announced my apostacy, i wonder why it's been put back up? Anyway the same debates are still going on, it was particularly intresting to see the confusion on death for apostates the topic i last posted in six months ago is still unsolved even between muslims on here. Anyway just checking my PM's...wish you all well. Peace. Anya God Has Called Me... - Muslimah - 10-04-2006 Bismillah I wonder why you posted this in a way to show that we are cheating people, if u already pmed me to draw my attention to it. just for everyone to understand, we dont need to cheat others with words of someone who is no longer a Muslim. The board was hacked and when Allalh Assisted us to restore the database, it was restored to the original order. And me being only human, I didnt check this post in particular. Well, dont worry Anya, we are not trying to use your words to sugar coat Islam. Alhamdulelah Islam does not need this. God Has Called Me... - submit - 10-04-2006 Congrulations! I loved your post. By the way, you said: "I intially investigated Islam because i wanted to see why Allah accepted slavery. I am a African British male, Agnostic, and read a book by Ronald Segal called Islams black slaves for reasearch into a piece on African/Black history i was writing. ... I read an explination which opened my eyes, and it continued from there..." Was the explanation that opened your eyes in that book? I'm greatly interested in Islamic writings. you also said: "then i got to science and the Quran, once i read in detail the unexplainable, absouloutely astounding science in the Quran, there was no way at all to go back, a door was opened...." did you a read a book about science? if yes which book please may God bless you.
