Can Islam co exist with non Muslims - Muslimah - 10-04-2003 as salam a`alaman itab`alhoda Again HabibHibee I really prefer to answer questions about Islam just as we are all doing for u here rather than going into side details. Alhamdulelah I got u verses from the Quran that introduces to u how we should deal with non Muslims, I think they were sufficent. Yet you are most welcome if u have anything else in mind about other topics..... Rather than discuss the issue in your own thoughts, you want to cut and paste verses out of the Qu'ran. Although the Qu'ran seems a decent enough moral code on the surface, I was particularly interested to find out where Wahabbi (spelling) fits in with the Qu'ran. Is Wahabbi a valid/reliable view of Islam ? Can Islam co exist with non Muslims - Muslimah - 10-11-2003 o look who is here, where have u been??? I thought u gave up on us:) Well it is not the matter of copy and paste. U simply asked a question just to remind u of the original topic. Does Islam co exist with other religions. Our source to asnwer this is the Quran, regardless the fact that u don't take it in consideration. But to tell u how Islam regulates relation with other religions, we must give u this from the Quran which is the manual. Right. so now u don't like it and want me to talk out of my head. I think as for being a Muslimah I must not apply my own rules but rather Allah's and to tell a non Muslim I must also do the same. In reality, I know that the Qu'ran says to tolerate other religions, but it is contradictory to the culture I see of Islam in treatment to non muslims and apostates. If Islam truly was as tolerant as the Qu'ran would like and praches, then why so much conflict in the regions of Asia with Hindus, Sihks, christians etc ? Why so much conflict between Sunni's and Shiites ? If these two versions of Islam cannot live side by side, what chance the rest of Islam ? This is something you can reply to yourself surely ? Can Islam co exist with non Muslims - SisterJennifer - 10-13-2003 Hi HabibHibee, You know these same questions can be asked of people of every faith. Why stop with the Muslims? Faults are common among all HUMANS it has nothing to do with what Prophet they decide to follow. Really, if every person were to worry about themselves as much as they worry about everyone else, things would be totally different. If you want to change the condition, you must first start with yourself, in honesty and humblness. Yes, I am aware of that flaws lie everywhere. Am I wrong to ask where the flaws lie within Islam ? Are you implying that Islam has no flaws here ? All too often I pose a question and no one wants to discuss it. But anyway, not all prophets are benevolant, some people follow false prophets that are not so good. I come to this site to interact with Muslims, ask questions hoping to get an understanding of what Islam is about from "ordinary Muslims". How do you feel about Wahabbism ? Can Islam co exist with non Muslims - Muslimah - 10-15-2003 Habib, it is good to know u r still here on the background. And no I am not avoiding your question. As I told u, to answer your question, I must do so from the valid source. As for me and Wahabissim. I truly prefer to introduce myself as a Muslim simply trying to follow Quran and Sunnah Insh a Allah. In grave I will have to answer what is my religion and I surely dont want to stumber in that while saying Islam, no need to confuse myself I only know Islam as in Quran and Sunnah. If u want answers in this form well and good if u feel unsatisfactory, then I am really sorry to disappoint u. Can Islam co exist with non Muslims - Guest - 10-15-2003 Quote:Originally posted by Muslimah Habib, it is good to know u r still here on the background. It's just who is it that is setting these standards and are they applicable as a law ? In my opinion, no. I think it restricts free thought and expression. Can Islam co exist with non Muslims - Muslimah - 10-16-2003 well tough luck Habib, the One Who is setting the standards happens to be you Creator, and surely they must be applied as a law. U do abide by man made laws don't u. To the best of my knowledge, if u drive u observe traffic laws which change from England to US but u still abide by them regardless of who sat them, right?????/ Can Islam co exist with non Muslims - Guest - 10-16-2003 Quote:Originally posted by Muslimah well tough luck Habib, the One Who is setting the standards happens to be you Creator, and surely they must be applied as a law. Traffic laws are based on common sense and rational thinking for modern times. So you say that my creator set the laws ? But really what you are saying is your creator set the laws and I have to live by your creators laws or rather, the warped interpretation of these laws based on the various scriptures passed down over the years. So you see, from that point alone, Islam cannot co exist with other theologies/religions, don't you agree ? My creator said, "Hey HabibHibee, be cool, try not to bother anyone, have a few beers, chill out man." |
