Wa alikumus salaam wa rhamatuhallahi wa barakatuh,

Bismillah,

Yes Sister Muslimah, I do believe all our meat must be halal. In sha Allah I will provide us with the daleel today. I want to touch briefly on this as I promissed my wife that she will, in sha Allah today tell about the "Factory Farms" here in the USA. The concept of halal meat and the slaughtering according to Islamic Law I think follows that an animal must live a good life and treated good for us to make zhabiah. My wife, Sister Jennifer, is very passionate about this and I will not steal her thunder.

May Allah(SWT) forgive me if I have stated anything wrong, and what is correct is from Allah(SWT).

Wa salaam

Todd

Ok brother Todd I am waiting for the final reply, may be I can clarify again what I got from a scholar here, and Radiyah confirmed it thru another one.

Is that one must try hard to find a halal store.

if not, avoid meat for the way animals are killed.

Jewish way of killing is like us, we may use their meat but say Bismellah Allah u Akbar.

Chicken is ok saying Bismellah Allah u Akbar

Yet the best is to find a halal store

actually I used the last option when I visited the us, I was in Dallas FW

waiting for SisJennifer's post

Jazakum Allah khairan for your efforts brother

Asalaamu Alikum Brothers and Sisters,

Ok, I have talked with our Imam and in sha Allah I can provide the answers for us all.

Surah 6 ayat 118-121 the ruling about eating only that on which Allah's name is mentioned. Also Surah 5 ayat 4 and 5. We must look at these ayats with a Qur'an that has the seal for the proper Tasfeer of the Holy Qur'an. This will in sha Allah will clarify this matter that that Allah's name MUST be mentioned at the time of slaughter. The Arabic term of zhabiah is used in Surah 6-118-121.

Narrated Rafi bin Khadij

that he said, "O Allah's Apostle! We have no knife." The Prophet said, "if the killing tool causes blood to gush out, and if Allah's Name is mentioned, eat (of the slaughtered animal). But do not slaughter with a nail or a tooth, for the nail is the knife of Ethiopians and a tooth is a bone." Suddenly a camel ran away and it was stopped (with an arrow). The Prophet then said, "Of these camels there are some which are as wild as wild beasts;

so if one of them runs away from you and you cannot catch it, treat it in this manner (i.e. shoot it with an arrow)."

Narrated 'Aisha

A group of people said to the Prophet, "Some people bring us meat and we do not know whether they have mentioned Allah's Name or not on slaughtering the animal." He said, "Mention Allah's Name on it and eat." Those people had embraced Islam recently.

We can not eat meat that is killed by the Jews because the name of Allah is not mentioned at the time of slaughter. Even if a Muslim slaughters an animal and intentionly does not mention the name of Allah, it is haram.

At the time of the above mentioned ayats that we can eat food from the people of the Books, because at that time they mentioned the name of Allah. Now this is not done, so we must not rely on them. They have gone astray, and we should not follow them into the lizard hole.

Allah knows best

Asalaamu alikum,

I am always surprised how many people are not familiar with the concept of factory farming although over 80% of all poultry supplied to the grocery stores comes from factory farms.

Factory farms and centered around greed. It's basically a giant building filled with rows and stacks of cages for the birds. The cage is where the animal will spend its entire life, never seeing sunshine or enjoying fresh air. There are feeding trays at the front of the cages for the animal to take it's food, which is feed through the row by machine.

The farmer is able to make even more money by keeping more than one bird in each cage. Most often there are 3-4 birds to a cage, and sometimes up to 6. Because the birds are cramped together in this way and no place to go, they will fight with each other. So the solution they made for this is(I am not making this up) they cut off the beaks of the birds so they cannot peck each other, and they cut off the toes so they are unable to scratch. This is done with a hot blade.

Because of the unhealthy lives these brids are forced to live, they are fed antibiotics along with their food, however this can also lead to slow growth, and most chickens meant for consumption are also fed large amounts of growth hormones. There have been cases where the bird has become so plump from these drugs, and their weak legs (unable to excersize) have broken under the weight.

So please, if you ever want to consider buying Tyson chicken or going to KFC and saying Bismillah to 'make it halal' think of what you are really putting into your mouth.

If we are going to eat them, they at least deserve to be treated humanely while they are alive.

Alhumdulilah, there are many healthy food choices we can make that there is no dire need for doubtful meat.

May Allah forgive us,

Jennifer

La hawla wala qowata ila billah, I can not imagine they do this to the birds, la hawla wala qowata ila billah.

So that makes both meat and chicken a no, did i understand correctly??

"Narrated 'Aisha

A group of people said to the Prophet, "Some people bring us meat and we do not know whether they have mentioned Allah's Name or not on slaughtering the animal." He said, "Mention Allah's Name on it and eat." Those people had embraced Islam recently. "

Or this shall be applied on people who embraced Islam. Sorry if I am asking too many questions and being a bit slow on this:o

Asalaamu alikum Sisiter,

The Imam wanted me to included this haddith because there is another haddith that does not have the part" Those people had embraced Islam recently." Because people will use that haddith so they can justify their eating of meat from the local grocery store.

Or this shall be applied on people who embraced Islam. Sorry if I am asking too many questions and being a bit slow on this.

The Sahaba, may Allah be pleased with them, were in question about if they invoked Allah's name before sacrifice. The people who gave the meat to the Sahaba, may Alah be pleased with them, sacrificed the animal themselves. The Prophet (SAW) assured them it was OK to eat the meat, because their intention was pure. I said in the last post if a Muslim intentionly does not invoke Allah's name on the animal, it is haram. But if a Muslim does it out of forgetfullness it is OK to eat the meat. I also should say our Imam wanted me to say he is not authorized to give Fatawa, that is why he said to make sure your are reading the Qur'an with the seal of authenticity for the tasfeer.

Because of the factory farming and the processing of the chicken, Allah's name is not invoked at the time of slaughter, so the meat is haram. These processing plants just chop off the chicken's head without mentioning Allah's name.

I have a Qur'an with the seal and if anyone wants, in sha Allah I can type the tasfeer of the ayats I have stated previously.

Allah knows best.

Wa salaam,

Todd

Bismillah

As salam alaikum

I'd like to build on what Br. Todd has said. We must let the blood flow when we slaughter an animal. Like Br. Todd said, they just completely cut the heads off of the chickens. This does not let the blood flow which is another reason why I was told this meat is not halal.

How are you my brother? Insha'Allah all is well with you and if not may Allah Give you the patience to see it through.

Astaghfirullah

As salam alaikum wa rahamtullahi wa barakatu

It's a herbivore and lives on trees. They are very fast and can run on two back legs. They can even swim under water. But they can't stay in water for long but use it as a retreat when in danger.
O boy this is the Iguana, they sure dont look very nice, Sobhan Allah.
