the first time i hear that (native Arabic speaker here)

Abd = slave.....i never heard anyone using the word Abd for black.......

scam emaill...you need to modify your junk mail filter settings.

but Christians make me laugh sometimes....when the christians considered Black people lesser people they were saying "look at this devilish religion (Islam) which give black people equal rights!!".....and now they use cheap lies to give Islam the look of an anti black people racist religion [Image: rolleyes.gif]

ooh..and btw...i have a copy of Zad Al ma'a'd...great book really...and as expected the liars didn't tell their readers that prophet Mohammed freed his black slave Mahran "aka safeena" for free.....they don't want you to know that.

and they also don't want you to know that among prophet Mohammed slaves there were white slaves......and that's the differnece....slavery in Islamic society was not just about black people...unlike the west were only black people were enslaved.

maybe i should start a thread about the black heros of Islam...good idea i guess....or maybe not....they want to start a "black Muslim and white Muslim" thing and what we should all insist on that there is only MUSLIM..there is nothing like white Muslim, Black Muslim, Arab Muslim, Turk Muslim, American Muslim..etc.

Well, that's what i've noticed over the past few days, didn't want to say this as i know some christians frequent this board, and since becoming Muslim i don't actually want to offend anybody BELIVE IT OR NOT. Going by the emails i've got, boards i've looked at and articles i've seen written. It wasn't junk email though, it was sent from someones hotmail account. If i block hotmail emails i wouldn't get any from my friends! Thing is they're not even emails of debate, they're just sent as a block of text stating "facts", haven't got any since though!

Exactly, i didn't start this thread to push any of that. When i embraced Islam i actually lost the hate i felt inside for some races who did bad to my people. Muhummads own words denounced any kind of race superiority, although my research showed that not all Muslims, in fact not many followed his words as a Black Slave trade still existed within Islam around the world long long afterwards, despite the Quran telling them god wants man to free the slaves. But the point is, there's no distinction, or there isn't supposed to be. That's why i got the emails from those christians, they want a divide even on the internet forums it seems!

BTW if wel mel offered to send u Quran as a gift then if u accept it, u r actually doing him a favor. The issue is multifaceted. In Islam exchanging gifts bear a merit. The Messenger (PAPBUH) said what means exchange gifts for this would instill love among u. Also if u accept it, each time u read in it he receives reward that would be ongoing if u continue using it even after he dies. So see he is actually making a deal with Allah [Image: smile.gif]

I tried searching today for the thread I told u about yesterday, but in vain Insh aAlalh I will still look.

However, I like to make an honest statement to u here. On this issue, our replies came from Islamic teachings and what Quran :

"O mankind! We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another. Verily, the most honourable of you with Allah is that (believer) who has At-Taqwa [i.e. one of the Muttaqun (pious). Verily, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware" (Quran 49:13)

Now this is the teaching we all built our comments here on. Yet u can not say that it is the attitude of all Muslims towards all Muslims. We may face dicrimination among ourselves. But we are talking about how Allah and of course His Messenger (SAW) who was a practical application of Quran in terms of his moral and ethics of course evaluate people. Allah Say made u into nations and tribes, then specified who is the most respected in the eyes of Allah as the most pious. If people do other wise or mistreat people because of race, culture or whatever this is not Allah's or Prophet MOhamed's (SAW) fault it is theirs.

Yeh i've continued reading the Islam and slavery book i'm on, and it seemed very very few muslims back then actually followed gods word. Thus the trade in Black slaves continued, sure it was a long time ago, forget it people say etc. But it still hurts deep down as a person of African origin but yeh, history is part of what i study so i'm always going to come across this. You would just imagine god fearing people such as the ancient Muslims would rigidly have stuck to gods words and freed the slaves, instead of continuing trading and keeping them for the next few thousand years.

This Ummah is truly blessed, never ever negate the blessings of being muslim, and always invite others to islam, but never consider the kuffar as equal to the muslim

HADITH No. 2

Abu Hurayrah relates that Rasulullah (SAW) said, "My

Ummah were given five things for Ramadhaan which were

not given to anyone except them. For them, the smell

from the mouth of a fasting person is more sweeter to

Allah than the fragrant smell of musk. On their behalf

the fish in the sea seek forgiveness for the fasting

persons until they break their fast. Allah prepares

and decorates a special garden in Jannah everyday and

then says (to it), "The time is near when faithful

servants shall cast aside the great trials of the

world and come to you". In this month (for them)

evil-minded Shaytaan is chained so as not to reach

unto those evils to which they normally reach during

other months besides Ramadhaan. On the last night of

Ramadhaan they are forgiven". The Sahaabah R.A.

thereupon enquired, "0 Messenger of Allah, is that

last night Laylatul Qadr? Rasulullah () replied, "No.

But it is only right that a servant should be given

his reward on having completed his service".

HADITH No. 3

Kaab bin Ujra relates, "Rasulullah said, "Come near

to the mimbar". And we came near to the mimbar.

When he ascended the First step of the mimbar he said

"Aameen". When he ascended the second step of the

mimbar he said, "Aameen". When he ascended the third

step he said, "Aameen".

When he descended we said, "0 Rasul of Allah, we have

heard from you today something which we never heard

before". He said, When I ascended the first step)

Jibra-eel A.S. appeared before me and said, "Woe to

him who found the blessed month of Ramadhaan and let

it pass by without gaining forgiveness", Upon that I

said, "Aameen". When I ascended the second step, he

said "Woe to him before whom thy name is mentioned and

then does not read Durood (salaat alan Nabi) on you".

I replied "Aameen". When I ascended the third step he

said, "Woe unto the person in whose presence both

parents or one of them attain old age, and (through

failure to serve them) is not allowed to enter Jannah"

I said "Aameen".
