The New American Quran: A Dangerous Trick - ronniv93 - 01-11-2005 One more thing: Who says it that it is being secretly distributed to children? Where is that information coming from? The entire book is posted on the Internet for one and all to see. That's hardly "secret". I'm just questioning the source of the information. What credible source is saying that it's being SECRETLY handed out? I'd like to read the full article for myself. The New American Quran: A Dangerous Trick - laian - 01-11-2005 Ronni, i wasn't sure if it was secretly or not, so i put a (?)... but here's what i was going by in the original post it said Quote:it is being distributed to our children in Kuwait in the private English schools! I assumed that if it's being distributed to children at school that is kind of low, because that is a place their parents do not go... so why are they targeting children? why not give it to the parents? I have to question that. and i wonder if the parents know it is being distributed at school, sure it is available on the internet, but do they know their kids are getting hard copies? so i don't know if its secret or not, but it seems underhanded at the very least. The New American Quran: A Dangerous Trick - Anyabwile - 01-11-2005 Quote: One more thing: Who says it that it is being secretly distributed to children? Where is that information coming from? In the UK there is a paper called Muslim weekly, that is where i read it is being distributed to children in Kuwait. Obviously secretly before it became available online and the paper printed the story. They seem to be a fair paper, they even have Christian writers who don't agree with Islam writing articles so i trust most of what they say if it isn't too far fetched. But no doubt...you will not, right? The New American Quran: A Dangerous Trick - ronniv93 - 01-11-2005 I won't completely disagree with it just because it's a Muslim paper, although I remain skeptical. I know you probably don't understand my perspective, but I feel I have to be skeptical based on my experience. Now, I guess, I just wonder how old this article is, because this book has been available online AT LEAST since 2003 that I know of. So, it must have been secret before that. Anyway, I'm done with the issue. This topic can only go so far. The New American Quran: A Dangerous Trick - Rehmat - 01-11-2005 Quote:Anyway, I'm done with the issue. This topic can only go so far. Hmmmmmm! What can I say. I have even seen Holy Qur’an translated into Hebrew by the Zionist Israel, which negates JIHAD, based on Bahai sect. And let us not forget, that each Chapter of present-day Old Testament in Arabic starts with “Bismillah”, just like Holy Qur’an. “Many Westerners who have not been sympathetic toward Islam have offered their interpretations of the Koranic text. There is no reason to suppose that such interpretations will help non-Muslims understand the text that reveals itself to Muslims. The Arabic book that goes by the name Koran is about as long as the New Testament. In most editions it is between 200 and 400 pagers in length. In contrast to the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament, the Koran issued from the mouth of a single person, who recited what he heard from the angel Gabriel. Both the Jewish and the Christian scriptures are collections of many books that were written down by a large number of human beings, and opinions differ as to their status as revelation. Even if we say that the books of the Bible were all revealed, they were revealed to different people who did not live at the same time or in the same place.” – “The Koran, by Sachiko Murata & William C. Chittick The New American Quran: A Dangerous Trick - umm Zachariah - 01-12-2005 Assalamu aleikum, I am not at all surprised about attempts to discredit the Qur'an - Allah, SWT in the Qur'an is clear enough and has told us all about the disbelievers and the challenge is there - and the challenge will be taken then and now and tomorrow, but of course it is a project that will always fail, masha'Allah. The Truth is outstanding for the ones that adhear to it and the promise for being steadfast in belief can also be read, ''Allah will say: "This is a Day on which the truthful will profit from their truth: Theirs are Gardens under which rivers flow (in Paradise) -- they shall abide therein forever. Allah is pleased with them and they with Him. That is the great success.'' The Qur'an 5:119 Wasalam |
