Citizenship Education - naseeha - 08-15-2006 Quote:I do wonder however, if a an islamic country and the muslim inhabitants would be so keen on state funded schools if those schools happened to be catholic schools or jewish schools or church of scientology schools ? Hmmmm ? A negative answer to that is quite ok in a faith-based society such as an islamic country... but we live in a multicultural society... come on man... chalk and cheese.. a common problem with analogies today regarding muslims anyways... curious christian... i agree with you... terrorists should pay for what they do.. however i believe what muslimah and Nasra are getting at is that some people are labeled terrorists wrongly.. this is what they are saying. I think that they would agree that if someone is RIGHTFULLY called a terrorist then he must be punished to the full extent of the law.. however, if the converse is true, then we have a flaw with our legal and social system where we follow the mainstream media and stereotype and lable those who are perfectly innocent.. Furhtermore, I believe that what they are referring to is the instances where someone does an act that is misconstrued to be "Terrorism" but is actually not. These misconceptions are fed by the media and fuelled by them also. And in these cases, a fair judgement is not made on behalf of the public of these people and they are given the raw end of the deal. I think that you both are looking at things from two different angles :) Citizenship Education - Dan - 08-16-2006 Bismillah "This is just an example of islamic aggression against other faiths and demonstrates that islam cannot compete with other religions. Although relgion is not a competition per se, islam cannot tolerate other religions which is why its does its best to opress non muslims in muslim majority countries. Truth be told, islam and muslim clergy fear losing their flock to other religions." You still seem to have alot of trouble differentiating the difference between the actions of muslims and Islam. Look to the history of many muslim nations and you will see that many of them did allow for religious tolerance, Muslim Spain and some periods in the Ottomans for instance. Citizenship Education - naseeha - 08-17-2006 Quote:Well I say it is NOT ok. Well this is your opinion and i have no knowledge of your sociological qualifiation to make such statements and place reliability on them. Many others beg to differ Quote:This is just an example of islamic aggression against other faiths and demonstrates that islam cannot compete with other religions. Although relgion is not a competition per se, islam cannot tolerate other religions which is why its does its best to opress non muslims in muslim majority countries. Truth be told, islam and muslim clergy fear losing their flock to other religions. This seems to be such a broad statement backed by nothing... can you produce anything ISLAMIC that shows islam's agression... huh???? and if you do quote your sources, then give them the same due as you would any other source of information??? Quote:Yes we do, where a mosque can be built with little hinderence. Compare that to the plight of other faiths in muslim majority countries, for example in Saudie Arabia where sharia is implemented, no public displays of worship and no bibles etc. Apparently the term CHALK AND CHEESE makes no sense to you.... I will take the time to explain... you are obviously confused  You cannot compare the way religion is practiced in a faith based country to one that is multi religious... thats absolutely absurd... heheh... their operations are ABSOLUTELY different... cant you see that... waw... It's like comparing CHALK AND CHEESE... LOL |
