Michael Jackson dies. - Dan - 07-12-2009 Bismillah As Salam alaikum I am waiting for them to declare a Micheal Jackson holiday. I am not surpirsed by this response in the least, though. Anyone remember how the media reacted when Anna Nicole Smith died? She couldn't sing or dance so I know we are for the long haul here. As muslims, we sometimes forget that this is their religion now. They have secularized everything to the point where religion is a weekend affair and even the deeply religious believe that it has no business in government. People have been created to worship. When they don't worship Allah, they find others. Celebrities are the new gods. People call him a "pop idol." There is also the American Idol show where the people actually get to vote on who to worship next. It reminds me of the polytheists who would carve their gods out of foodstuff like oatmeal, worship it, then eat it. Subhanallah. What is scary is that we all know it is only going to get worse. There will be a time when the best of men will be the guy who upon seeing a man fornicate with his mother in the open, will ask them to at least go behind a wall. We are in the transition to those times. Evil and deviance seep into societies like an infection, not just one big "boom," and we are now in the middle of that increasing sickness. At least we know the cure and insh a Allah we will be able to protect our families. As Salam alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatu Michael Jackson dies. - Muslimah - 07-14-2009 Bismillah May be I was brief in my comments, let me try to elaborate and express what i felt in this and other similar situations. yes we are all going to die, but one must ponder upon the ends of others, any other person, the end is what we are all aiming for. In each case, the end is indicative raising certain points. Any death brings to my mind a lot to reflect on, with special situation with celebrities. For example, looking at Jackson's life, he climbed the ladder of fame till top, had money, glory, all what he wants, became a role model, even to Arabs, then started going down facing many complicated problems that an Arab Sheikh had to financially support his litigatin proceedings that involved huge sums of money, he couldnt afford. One to think for a moment, here is Allah Manifesting with His Names and Attributes ArRafei (One Who Elevates), Al Khafed (One Who Lowers), Al Qabed (One Who Contracts=contracted his financial resources). Then he suddenly dies, ends up, leaving all of this and descending into an earth pit with nothing with him of this fame... Supposedly, other celebrities must take heed, that all this world is nothing. But only few do. For us Muslims, we must always keep this in mind, we must look at things from different dimension, none of us is above temptation, which might come in a shape or another each according to where Shytan knows that it could work except one whom Allah Bestows His Mercy upon. Comparing this with high profile crime that took place here in Egypt last year when a Lebanese singer was brutally killed. The crime attracted high media coverage because of the involved defendants. She reached all what a female singer would want, had like numerous plastic surgeries against obscene amount of money wanting to turn men heads around, which she did. She had like 5 men fighting over her, received diamond gifts worth huge amount of money, and ended up slayed in her appartment. None of this benefited her, none of this went with her in grave, none of this detered death. I was thinking to myself, other co singers must think well before they go on stage wearing almost nothing and moving around to steer men's applaude, but they didnt. Sobhan Allah. All this goes in my mind when I read about deaths in general and celebrities in particular. |
