  Stick To Righteousness.
Posted by: Abu Hafsat - 09-26-2018, 11:54 AM - Forum: "And remind for reminding benefit the believers - No Replies

As-Salaam alaikum,

May I have your attention and remind you/us of Sheikh Abu'l Nasr al-Sarraj's advice that we should, at all times, establish ourselves and dedicate our efforts to:--

Distance yourself from "that which is forbidden, the major and the minor of it. Secondly, fulfill all religious obligations, the easy and

the difficult of them. The third is leaving the world (dunya) to the people of the world, the large and the small portions of it; except what

is necessary from it for the believer, which is what is narrated from the Prophet, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, that he said:

"Four things are in the dunya but not of it: a portion of food with which you satisfy your hunger; clothing that covers

your nakedness; a home that you reside in and a wife that you find repose with."

Everything else beside this- from gathering, prohibiting, clinging to, love of increase and boastfulness- all of this is a severing veil that cuts the abd (slave) off from Allah."  So, take heed. Life in this world is rather short!!!

For further reading on this, see:

"Kitab al-Luma (The Book of Flashes)", by

Sheikh Abu'l Nasr al-Sarraj (d.378/988)

As-Salaam alaikum,

Sayyadina Abdullah Ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Prophet, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, said:--

"I am the city of knowledge, Abu Bakr is its foundation, Umar is its wall,

Usman is its roof and Ali is its portal [gate]."  [Musnad-ul-Firdau, vol. 1 Hadith No. 105].

  Have You Visited The Prophet?
Posted by: Abu Hafsat - 08-31-2018, 08:44 PM - Forum: "And remind for reminding benefit the believers - No Replies

The Leader of Mankind and Jinn and Messenger of Allah, Prophet Muhammad, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, said:--

"Whoever visits me without any intended purpose other than my visit,

it is incumbent upon me to be his intercessor on the Day of Rising." [Tabarani No. 13149, Ibn Muqri in his Mu'jam pg. 80].

And the Prophet, alaihis-Salaat Was-Salaam, was also reported as saying:--

"Whoever (makes pilgrimage then) visits me after my death, it is as if

he visited me during my (earthly) life." [Baihaqi in his Sunan- No. 10409].

So, make that intention of/to visit him, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, at his house and Masjid in Madina al-Munawwarah.... may Allah Ta'ala afford us the chance and ability to visit His Messenger often... ameen.

  Worldly Life..So Insignificant !!
Posted by: Abu Hafsat - 08-05-2018, 08:51 PM - Forum: Islam - No Replies

As-Salaam alaikum,

The Noble Messenger of Allah, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, said:---

"The life of this world compared to the Hereafter is as if one of you were to put

his finger in the ocean and take it out again; then compare the water that remains

on his finger to the water that remains in the ocean." [Sahih Muslim].

This is a very clear Hadith... that we may not need to say more, other than to resolve to work hard for the permanent life in the Hereafter, by living our lives in accordance with the injunctions/commands of the Holy Qur'an and the Sunnah.

And To Allah We Shall Return.
Posted by: Abu Hafsat - 08-05-2018, 08:39 PM - Forum: Islam - No Replies

As-Salaam alaikum,

Ayat 156 of Surat Baqra of the Holy Qur'an (2:156) reads:---

"We belong to Allah, and to Him we shall return."

With this, we realize that when we say 'We belong to Him', we are declaring that nothing belongs to us... nothing is deserved. Everything we have is a pure act of grace and blessing of/from Allah, Jallah-Jalalahu. Once this fact reaches our heart, we will be able to break free from pride, arrogance and complaint.

The Ruh and Allah's Secret Ocean.
Posted by: Abu Hafsat - 06-19-2018, 09:53 PM - Forum: Islam - No Replies

As-Salaam alaikum,

In ayat 85 of Surat Bani-Isra'el of the Holy Qur'an (17:85), Allah Ta'ala says:--

"And they ask you concerning the ruh (spirit or soul).

Say: the ruh (comes) by command of my Lord: of knowledge

it is a little that is communicated to you, (O men!)."

With this ayat, we come to understand that the ruh.. the spirit or soul in our body is one of those things that are of high spiritual mysteries, which cannot be explained in terms of our everyday human experiences. It is Allah's secret ocean..... an ocean from which you and I are able to look, feel, walk, touch, smell, speak, hold, hear, taste etc

How is it that we are able to do all this, but yet we don not know how we are looking, smelling, hearing, walking, tasting, speaking?  You may lift your hand up and let it fall down again; you may catch something, but you do not know how you are catching that thing. You are walking, but you do not know how you are able to walk!!

Looking into ourselves, we see a perfect balance. There are 360 organs (internal and external) in our bodies... each has its own function. When one of them works, it does not prevent the other from working. So, it is not possible for you/us to understand about ruh more than this.... other than to acknowledge and/or declare: Allahu  Akbar!  Allahu  Akbar!!   La-ilaha illallahu, Allahu Akbar  Wa Lillahil-Hamd!!!

Consider Ayat 257 of Surat Baqra.
Posted by: Abu Hafsat - 06-03-2018, 11:43 AM - Forum: Islam - No Replies

As-Salaam alaikum,

Ayat 257 of Surat Baqra of the Holy Qur'an (2:257) reads:--

"Allah is the Wali of those who believe. He brings them out from

     darkness into the Light."

Allah, may He be Exalted, says He is the Protective Friend of those who believe. Nu'uman Ali Khan explained that Allah Ta'ala did not use the word mu'minoon.. meaning 'the believers'. He said, "those who believed". Who are they?  They are the people who have entered into imaan (faith) but it has not settled in their hearts yet. He is the Protective Friend of those people.  Not the perfect ones, but the ones who struggle- those who are not there yet. And how is He a Protective Friend?

He has the constant attribute of pulling them-- pulling us, those who go up and down in their faith-- out of darkness, and bringing them into Light. Not just one time, but over and over again. Just like He forgives sins over and over. He always has our back, Gafur-Raheem.

  Be Immuned From Iblis.
Posted by: Abu Hafsat - 04-08-2018, 05:15 PM - Forum: Islam - No Replies

As-Salaam alaykum,

The Noble Messenger of Allah, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, said:--

"Three (classes of people) are immune from Iblis and his hordes: those who constantly hold Allah

in remembrance by night and day; those who seek forgiveness before dawn; and those who weep

for fear of Allah (most Great and Majestic)."

Narrated by Abul Shaykh in Kitab al-Thawab, on the authority of Ibn Abbas.

Asking For Forgiveness: A Great Honor.
Posted by: Abu Hafsat - 03-02-2018, 02:41 PM - Forum: Islam - No Replies

As-Salaam alaikum,

Says Allah, Azzah Wa Jallah, in the Holy Qur'an:--

"AND SEEK FORGIVENESS OF ALLAH. INDEED ALLAH IS FORGIVING AND MERCIFUL" (73:29)

"SURELY, ALLAH LOVES THOSE PEOPLE WHO CONSTANTLY REPENT TO HIM" (2:222)

Note that in above verse/ayat (2:222), Allah did not say, 'Allah loves the Taa'ibeen (those who repent), but He said, Tawwabeen, which means those who constantly... over and over, repent.

As humans, we sometimes tend to strap off the path for a while. What should we do when we realize we erred ?  How do we ensure that our repentance is sincere, consistent and successful? There are 3 main steps one must take in order to sincerely repent:--

 (1) Deeply regret with a sincere heart for the sin committed.

 (2) Return to Allah Ta'ala for forgiveness: recite lots of Instighfar

(3) Make a strong intention never to return to that same sin again.

May Allah Ta'ala help us in returning to Him... always... ameen.
