Poll: Majority Say Congressional Hearings on Alleged Extremism in American Muslim Community ‘Good Idea’
But 7-IN-10 Say Congress Should Not Single Out American Muslim Community
The February PRRI/RNS Religion News Survey, conducted in partnership with Religion News Service, finds:
VIEWS ON CONGRESSIONAL HEARINGS INVESTIGATING ALLEGED EXTREMISM IN AMERICAN MUSLIM COMMUNITY
A majority (56%) of Americans say that the upcoming Congressional hearings to investigate alleged extremism in the American Muslim community are a good idea, compared with 29% who say they are a bad idea. Approval of the hearings varies considerably by political and religious affiliation.
* Men are more likely than woman to believe the hearings are a good idea (61% to 51%). Women are more than twice as likely as men to say they do not know whether it is a good or bad idea (17% to 8%).
* More than 7-in-10 (71%) Republicans say the hearings are a good idea compared to less than half (45%) of Democrats and 56% of Independents.
* More than three-quarters (76%) of those who most trust Fox News say it is a good idea compared to only 45% of those who most trust CNN and 28% of those who most trust Public television.
* Seven-in-ten white evangelicals say the hearings are a good idea, compared to roughly half of white mainline Protestants (50%) and the unaffiliated (49%).
More than 7-in-10 (72%) Americans believe Congress should investigate religious extremism anywhere it exists and not just focus on the American Muslim community. Support for this broader approach is strong across political and religious affiliation groups, including 77% of Republicans, and 73% of white evangelicals.
FEARS AND FAIRNESS TOWARDS AMERICAN MUSLIM COMMUNITY
A plurality (46%) of Americans believe that American Muslims have not done enough to oppose extremism in their communities. One-third of the general public disagrees, and 1-in-5 are unsure.
* Men are more likely than women to believe American Muslims have not done enough to oppose extremism (54% to 40%).
* A majority of Republicans (56%) and those who most trust Fox News (59%) believe Muslims have not done enough
* Only about 4-in-10 of those who most trust CNN (43%), those who most trust Broadcast news (42%) and Democrats (42%) say Muslim Americans have not done enough. Only 3-in-10 public television watchers agree that Muslims have not done enough, and a majority (56%) disagrees.
* More than any other group, white evangelicals (62%) report that Muslim Americans have not done enough to oppose extremism.
Nearly half (49%) of Americans do not believe that Muslims in the U.S. have been unfairly targeted by law enforcement. More than one-third (36%) believe that Muslims have been targeted unfairly.
* Young Americans (age 18 to 34) are much more likely to believe that Muslims have been targeted unfairly than older adults (age 65+) (48% to 27%)
* Nearly half (48%) of those who most trust CNN, a majority (57%) of those who most trust public television say that Muslims in the U.S. have been targeted unfairly by law enforcement, compared to only 16% of those who most trust Fox News.
* A majority (53%) of Democrats say that Muslims in the U.S. have been targeted unfairly by law enforcement, compared to only 19% of Republicans.
More than 6-in-10 (62%) believe Muslims are an important part of the American religious community. There is strong agreement on this across political and religious affiliation groups.
Only about 1-in-5 (22%) Americans believe that American Muslims want to establish Shari’a law as law of the land in the United States. Nearly two-thirds (65%) of the public disagree.
* Republicans are twice as likely as Democrats to believe that Muslims want to establish Shari’a law as law of the land (31% to 15%).
* Those who most trust Fox News are twice as likely as those who most trust Broadcast news and about four times as likely those who most trust public television to believe this (35%, 18% and 9%)
* More than one-third (34%) of white evangelicals believe Muslims are trying to impose Shari’a law, compared to only 20% of white mainline Protestants and 22% of white Catholics.
SOURCES OF TV NEWS AND INFLUENCE ON VIEWS
The survey findings also show a significant correlation between trust in Fox News and negative attitudes about Muslims. Americans who most trust Fox News are more likely to believe that Muslims want to establish Shari'a law, have not done enough to oppose extremism, and believe investigating Muslim extremism is a good idea. There are even differences among Republicans and white evangelicals who trust Fox news most and those who trust other media.
* Republicans who say Fox News is their most trusted news source are more likely than Republicans who trust a different news source to say they are well-informed about Islam (53% to 34%). They are also more likely than Republicans who most trust other news sources to say the hearings are a good thing (82% to 60%).
* White evangelicals who most trust Fox News are much more likely than those who trust a different news source to say they feel informed about Islam than those who trust other sources of news (70% to 37%). This same group of evangelicals is also more likely than their counterparts who most trust other news sources to say the hearings are a good thing (84% to 60%).
KNOWLEDGE ABOUT HEARINGS AND ISLAM
Only about one-third (34%) of Americans report having heard a lot (7%) or a little (28%) about the upcoming hearings to investigate alleged extremism in the American Muslim community. Nearly two-thirds (65%) report having heard nothing at all about it.
* Older Americans (age 65+), are much more likely to have heard about the hearings than younger Americans (age 18 to 34) (49% to 31%).
* Americans who report that Fox is their most trusted news source are more likely to have heard about the hearings (40%) than those who trust CNN (28%) or Broadcast news (33%).
* Close to half (45%) of white evangelicals report having heard about the upcoming hearings compared to just 29% of white mainline Protestants.
Americans are split over whether they feel well informed about Islam and the beliefs and practices of Muslims. Forty-five percent say they are well informed while an equal number say they are not.
* Men are much more likely to report that they are well informed than women (56% to 36%).
* College graduates are also much more likely to report feeling well informed than those with no college education (58% to 39%).
* There is NO DIFFERENCE between Republicans and Democrats on how well informed they feel about Islam.
* However, those who most trust Fox News are much more likely than those who most trust CNN or those who most trust Broadcast news to report feeling well informed (51%, 41%, 31% respectively).

Results from the survey were based on telephone interviews conducted February 11-13, 2011 among a national probability sample of 1,015 adults age 18 and older.

Islamic explanation of the overall landscape worldwide |

Bismillah
Praise be to Allah and blessing and peace be upon our beloved Messenger, mentor, leader and role model Mohammad Ibn Abdullah, his household, and companions.
Lately, I had been watching, pondering, reflecting on the overall situation worldwide. One would observe clearly how revolutions are erupting and spreading like fire everywhere, violence, deaths..etc. Leave alone earthquakes either physically or shaking of people in terms of instability. I thought a lot and found that Sobhan Allah all of this is already well explained in Hadeeth, as follows:
http://www.inter-islam.org/faith/Majorsi...ml#genral1
The Coming of Imaam Mahdi is one of the signs of Qiyamah as is the belief of the Ahlus-Sunnah and he has yet to appear.
Abdullah-bin-Masood has reported that the Prophet said, "The world will not pass away before the Arabs are ruled by a man (referring to Mahdi) of my family whose name will be the same as mine." (Abu Daud)
However, many people in the past falsely claimed to be Imaam Mahdi. One of these false claimants was Mohd-bin-Tomart, a tyrant who spread corruption and even buried some of his companions because they didn't believe that he was the Mahdi described by the Ahadith of Prophet . Some believe it was Mohd-bin-al Askari who disappeared at the age of 5 and went into hiding and has been hiding for 10 centuries. Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (The Cursed) was also one of those who claimed to be the Mahdi as well as many other people. Besides those mentioned there were many others who claimed the office of Mahdi, the most recent being somebody from Manchester who claimed the position for himself.
It should be noted that none of the above or anybody else who claimed to be the Mahdi in the past fulfilled the conditions laid down by the Prophet .
A list of some of the signs which will precede Imaam Mahdi and some that describe him have been gathered in this book so that we Muslims are not misled to believe in somebody claiming to be the Mahdi who in reality is a blatant liar.
Back to content
Signs That Will Precede Him
1) A General Sign
There are many signs that will precede him; a general and very important sign is that he will come at a time when there is great confusion, intense disputes and violent death. When people are afflicted by disturbances and fear. Calamities will fall upon the people, so much so that a man shall not find shelter to shelter him from oppression. There will be many battles and fitnaas before his appearance. Every time a fitnaa has come to an end, another will start, spread and intensify. The people will be troubled to such extent that they will long for death. It is then that Imaam Mahdi will be sent.
Abu Saeed al-Khudri has reported that the Messenger of Allah said:
''He will be sent at a time of intense disputes and differences among people and earthquakes.'' (Ahmad)
Back to content
2) Note. The Double Eclipse In Ramadan statement quoted from Darequtni is NOT verified, indeed it's authenticity is questionable. It is NOT to be considered as authentic Hadith.
3) The Battle in Mina (we are not here as yet):
Before Imaam Mahdi emerges an inter-tribal fight will take place. In the same year Haji's will be looted and a battle will erupt in Mina in which many people will be killed.
Amr-bin-Shuaib reported from his grandfather that the Messenger of Allah said, ''In Dhul-Qada (Islamic month) the tribes will fight, Hajis will be looted and there will be a battle in Mina in which many people will be slain and blood will flow until it runs over the Jamara-tul-aqba. Their companions (referring to Imaam Mahdi) will flee to a point between the Corner and the Maqaam and will be forced to accept people's allegiance.'' (Al-Fitan Nuaim-b-Hammad)

BBC Panorama: Muslim Schooling
John Ware is nothing more than an Islamophobe and an Islam basher. To single out Islam as the only religion where such so-called teachings are given proves Ware's own prejudice, bigotry and hatred. The documentary contained many close-up images of hijab-clad girls set to sinister music, as well as slow-motion shots of so-called radical preachers and Muslim men praying in mosques. The message was that Muslim communities are isolating themselves from mainstream society. It gave the impression that Muslim parents who send their children to faith schools are exercising ‘voluntary apartheid’. We live in a world of many divides. Indeed, it would appear that divides are the norm rather than the exception.
The Panorama show was a confused and sensationalist piece of filmmaking. The Islamic Schools in the documentary were all rated ‘good’ or ‘excellent’, confirmed by their own presenter. To be honest, I didn’t find much weight in their arguments against the schools at all. Anti-Muslims sentiment spread by the media has led to increase violence and discrimination against Muslims in small suburbs and market towns. The attacks on Muslims go largely unnoticed by the media and politicians. Muslim schools protect Muslim children from the onslaught of Euro-Centrism, homosexuality, racism, drinking, drugs, incivility, anti-social behavior, teenage pregnancies and abortions and secular traditions. English is one of the most damaging subjects - reflects secular and immoral beliefs that contradict the view point of Islam. Romeo and Juliet of Shakespeare advocates disobeying parents and premarital relations. Speaking English does not promote integration into British society, and broaden opportunities. The whole world belongs to Muslims. A Muslim is a citizen of this tiny global village. He/she does not want to become notoriously monolingual Brit. He/she must be well versed in Standard English to follow the National Curriculum and go for higher studies and research to serve humanity. At the same time he/she must be well versed in Arabic, Urdu and other community languages to keep in touch with cultural roots and enjoy the beauty of literature and poetry.
No one is advocating the establishing of Sharia law in a non-Muslim country. But Muslims like Jewish people should be able to have their own inheritance laws, religious weddings and divorces according to their own beliefs. It was Muslims in their own lands who first allowed non Muslims to be able to practice their own laws and this was enshrined in Islamic law nearly 1400 years ago. It was Muslims who gave shelter to the Jews when they were thrown out of Europe during the inquisition and during pogroms. Muslims never burnt people alive or tortured them for their beliefs. Islam is not associated with denial of human rights - actually historically Islam provided documentation for human rights. It is absurd to believe that Muslim schools, Imams and Masajid teach Muslim children anti-Semitic, homophobic and anti-western views. It is dangerously deceptive and misleading to address text books and discuss them out of their historical, cultural and linguistic context. Muslims were already disproportionately being targeted by police with programmes such as the Prevent project. Focusing on Muslim schools for investigation would tell Muslim young people "you are different" and further alienate them. Singling out Muslim schools threatened to add to already "dangerous" levels of Islamophobia, which he compared to the amount of anti-Semitism in the 1920s and 1930s.
It is not wrong to teach children that anti-social behaviour, drinking, drugs, homosexuality, sex before marriage, teenage pregnancies and abortions are western values and Islam is against all such sins. This does not mean that Muslim schools teach children to hate westerners, Jews and homosexuals. Extremism, homophobia and anti-Semitism are nothing to do with Islamic teachings and beliefs. Islam does not teach that Jews and Christians are pigs and monkeys. The government, Panorama and the Policy Exchange think-tank should concentrate on institutionally racist schooling and chicken racist teachers, the rising levels of attacks on teachers and the bullying of children; also the fact that society has rising levels of teenage pregnancy, sexually transmitted disease and anti-social behavior. British education system does not take into account a child’s ethnicity, language, culture and faith. A child’s identity and heritage are core to who they are. It is precisely for these reasons that Muslims seek to encourage their children to go to Muslim schools and learn Islamic values and develop cultural, linguistic and spiritual identities, so that they can be decent, productive people, who have respect and care for others.

http://edition.cnn.com/2011/WORLD/meast/...ts/?hpt=T2
CNN) -- People across Egypt took to the streets on Tuesday in demonstrations against corruption and failing economic policies, rallies partly inspired by similar protests that rocked Tunisia this month.
Thousands were protesting in the capital of Cairo, according to the "Front to Defend Egypt Protesters," an alliance of lawyers who helped organize the events.
At first, witnesses said, the police were restrained in Cairo. But later, they said, police fired around a dozen rounds of tear gas on the protesters, and people in the crowd threw the canisters back at the officers.
The group said about 200 demonstrators were in the southern city of Aswan, 2,000 in the eastern city of Ismailiya, and about 3,000 in the northern city of Mahallah.
Protest organizers said they hope to capture the regional momentum for political change set by Tunisians, who 10 days ago forced the collapse of Zine El Abidine Ben Ali's 23-year rule.
'Winds of change' blowing through Middle East and North Africa
The Egyptian government did not issue permits for Tuesday's planned protests.
In an interview released Tuesday with state-run al-Ahram newspaper, Interior Minister Habib Adly warned that "the security agencies are able to stop any attempt to attend" the demonstrations and called the efforts of the "youth staging street protests ineffective."

Thousands protest corruption in Egypt By early Tuesday morning, more than 90,000 people throughout the country had pledged to participate in the event in a Facebook group called "We Are All Khaled Said," named after an Alexandria activist who was allegedly beaten to death by police.
The Facebook group demands raising the minimum wage, sacking the interior minister, creating two-term presidential term limits and scrapping existing emergency laws that the group says "resulted in police control" over the people and the nation.
To highlight the role of police corruption, organizers tapped January 25 -- Police Day and a national holiday -- to hold protests.
Amnesty International released a statement Monday "urging the Egyptian authorities not to crack down" on the planned nationwide demonstration.
The banned Muslim Brotherhood, the biggest organized opposition to Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak's regime, had stated it would not have an official presence at Tuesday's protests, but some of its members "have reportedly been summoned and threatened with arrest and detention" if they attend and protest, Amnesty International said.
It was not clear whether opposition leader and Nobel Peace laureate Mohamed ElBaradei would attend the planned demonstrations. However, he posted statements supporting the effort on his Twitter account.
He also issued a video statement released Monday on YouTube addressing police.

"I sympathize with you because sometimes you are asked to do things that you do not want to do," ElBaradei said.
"One day, I hope that you will regain your role as the protectors of the people; rather than protectors of ... fraud elections. I am sure that every one of you deep inside is looking forward to the day that his role will again be with the people and a part of them, rather than against them." he added.
Public sentiment against state security forces has grown recently with alleged videos of police brutality shown on the Internet. A recent report from Human Rights Watch said the problem is "epidemic" and "in most cases, officials torture detainees to obtain information and coerce confessions, occasionally leading to death in custody."
Some other human rights groups, such as the Arabic Network for Human Rights, have drawn a comparison between Egypt and Tunisia under Ben Ali, in terms of the level of government corruption and police brutality.
Adly, the Egyptian interior minister, dismissed any such comparisons, calling it "propaganda" that had been dismissed by politicians as "intellectual immaturity."
But one woman, identified only as Nahla, who plans to attend the Tuesday protests, disagrees. She wrote in an online post, "I hope the [Tunisia-style] revolution will be taught in history. And that Egyptians will learn in school later about the January 25th revolution."

Israel destroys East Jerusalem hotel for settlements |

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-12146277
Israeli bulldozers have demolished part of a hotel in East Jerusalem to make way for 20 homes for Jewish settlers.
The destruction of the Shepherd Hotel has angered Palestinians, who want East Jerusalem as the capital of a future Palestinian state.
The Palestinian leadership said Israel was destroying any chance of returning to peace. The US called the demolition a "disturbing development".
Israel says it has a right to build homes in any part of the city.
The Shepherd Hotel was built in the 1930s and was once home to Amin al-Husseini, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem who became an ally of Adolf Hitler in World War II.
Its current ownership is disputed - Israel says it belongs to a Jewish-American property developer but Palestinians say it was seized illegally after Israel occupied East Jerusalem in 1967.
'Contradicts logic'
"By doing this, Israel has destroyed all the US efforts and ended any possibility of a return to negotiations," said Nabil Abu Rudeina, a spokesman for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
"Israel has no right to build in any part of East Jerusalem, or any part of the Palestinian land occupied in 1967."
Attempts by the US to revive peace negotiations stalled last year, after Israel refused to end settlement building on occupied Palestinian land.

Obstacles to peace: Jerusalem
In a statement, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said the demolition "undermines peace efforts to achieve the two state-solution".
"In particular, this move contradicts the logic of a reasonable and necessary agreement between the parties on the status of Jerusalem," she said.
Adnan al-Husseini, Palestinian governor of Jerusalem, said it was the latest in a line of demolitions of historic buildings and accused Israel of "trying to erase any Palestinian identity" from the city.
Israeli officials said the demolition had been carried out legally and defended its decision.
"This is something that every country does in its own domain without the necessity to give any report to any other government," said the minister for national infrastructure, Uzi Landau.
Nearly 500,000 Jews live in more than 100 settlements built since Israel's 1967 occupation of the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
The settlements are considered illegal under international law, although Israel disputes this.

Sexual Grooming and Pakistani Youths
Jack Straw, the justice secretary in the former British government, sparked controversy when he accused young men of Pakistani origin in Britain as regarding vulnerable native girls as "easy meat" for sexual abuse. The Blackburn MP and one of the Labor Party’s most prominent figures challenged the Pakistani community in the United Kingdom to tackle a problem that has resulted in "Pakistani heritage men thinking it is OK to target native girls in this way".
Mr. Straw made his remarks after two Asian men were jailed indefinitely in Nottingham for a series of rapes and sexual attacks on vulnerable girls they had picked up on the streets.
Jack Straw seems to have a campaign to demonise and stereotype Muslims. If he was honestly tackling a problem he would have done it in a different way.
Why it is a surprise that white woman are easier to get into bed than a Pakistani women and not to mention we are in the UK which happens to be a mainly white population.
I believe he concerned about the number of white female converts to Islam because some of them see the real Islam through a Pakistani brother.
A nursery worker had been arrested for sexually abusing children aged 2-3 at a nursery. Sick, but Jack Straw does not say that there is a large number of paedo's still around, or that the church is full of paedo priests. Why the hypocrisy?
The latest year, for which we have data, Lancashire police arrested 627 people for sexual offences. 0.3% of these were Pakistanis. That’s two people. 85.5% were white British. In Lancashire, there are 1,296,900 white Brits and 45,000 Pakistanis. This means that 4.163 per 10,000 white Brits were arrested for a sex crime, compared to 0.44 Pakistanis
If you look at my religion sex outside marriage, drink and drugs are all a sin and are forbidden. Also the third biggest sin in Islam is adultery, which these men also committed. They aren't very good Muslims are they? The actions they committed are all against Islam and the punishment under Sharia would be........I think you all know!!!
A major newspaper investigation linked some British Pakistani youths with the sexual exploitation of underage native girls in towns across North and Midland. Some of them are convicted of grooming underage native girls for sex because they think that these girls have fewer morals and are less valuable than Muslim girls. Now decent Pakistani men will be looked at as potential child abusers but last year 80% of child abusers were native Brits.
These Pakistani youths are British born and educated in state schools with non-Muslim monolingual teachers. They are the product of western education system which makes a man stupid, selfish and corrupt. They have been mis-educated and de-educated and they do not know where they belong. They suffer from identity crises. They speak English in local accents. They are unable to speak, read and write Urdu language. They find themselves cut off from their cultural roots and are unable to enjoy the beauty of their literature and poetry. Such individuals are fully assimilated into British culture. What do you expect from such individuals? Instead of sending them to prison, they should be included in New Year Honour List. In the past a Muslim girl was awarded MBE for running way from her parents. Now there are round about 6000 runaway Muslim girls in the custody of LAs. They should also be included in the Honour List. Thanks to the British education system.
Most teenage girls, but especially the girls who hang around the streets have no roots, low self esteem etc and so is easy prey for any group - any group - who cares to seduce them. Lots of “KID’s” around 12 to 14 start partying! (drinking, doing drugs & having sex). This was happening in the 60s & 70s, so I am sure it’s worse now. The big issue is, where the PARENTS are. British parents already lost the battle to have any control over their children.
Britain’s so brilliant Education Ministry had embarked on teaching sex to 5 year olds from last year. Britain already has health and social services, including counseling for children who are sexually active. One initiative has distributed contraceptives to girls as young as 11. Tony Blair said it is the right thing to do– handing free contraceptives to British girls. The Institute for Public Policy Research found that a major reason for Britain’s thug generation was the collapse of British family life. Evidence also showed that British adults are afraid to control their drunk, high, fornicating and violent teens. The adults also lagged behind their European peers in confronting their teenagers about “antisocial” behavior.
The native Brits have double standards and are hypocrites; they don't mention the fact that the majority of men who go to countries in East Asia looking for under aged sex are natives European men.
This is sickening. It's no wonder Great Britain is in such a bad shape. Ten years old British girls are haveing babies out of wedlock. They are not allowed to get married but are allowed to have babies. Teenage pregnancy rate in Great Britain is the highest in Western Europe. It is a civilised country and Yemen is a backward country because it allowes young girls to get married.
Indiscipline, incivility, binge drinking, drug addiction, gun and knife crimes, teenage pregnancies and abortion are part and parcel of British schooling. These are the reasons why majority of Muslim parents would like to send their children to Muslim schools with Muslim teachers as role models during their developmental periods. Only less than 5% attend Muslim schools and more than 95% keep on attending state and church schools to be mis-educated and de-educated by non-Muslim monolingual teachers.
There are hundreds of state and church schools where Muslim children are in majority. In my opinion, all such schools may be opted out as Muslim Academies. There is no place for a non-Muslim child or a teacher in a Muslim school.

Bismillah
Praise be to Allah, blessing and peace be upon our Messenger, leader, mentor and teacher Mohammad Ibn Abdullah, his household and companions.
"And if the people of the towns had believed and had the piety, certainly, We should have opened for them blessings from the heaven and the earth, but they belied (the Messengers). So We took them (with punishment) for what they used to earn (polytheism and crimes, etc.)". (Quran 7:96)
As we are all constantly monitoring the escalating events in Tunis and their consequences including those who burnt themselves to death in Egypt and Algeria following the footsteps of Bou A`zizi, may Allah have mercy on him, and I invoke upon Allah to forgive him and we are not entitled to judge how Allah Shall judge him or classify him as being a suicidal or not? However, in all event, the Messenger blessings and peace be upon him said:
Narrated under the authority of abi Omar, Jarir Bin Abdullah, may Allah be please with him said: we were in the beginning of the day at the Messenger's blessing and peace be upon him, when a group of people who were undressed that they had to cut open stripped clothing of wool to be able to wear it through their heads, and wearing their swords. The majority of them, no all of them were from Modar (an Arab tribe), the Messenger's-blessing and peace be upon him-face changed expressing sorrow for the explicit poverty he saw. He went in then came out, he commanded Bilal who made the call for Salat, the Messenger performed the Salat then started giving a surmon saying:" O humankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from a single person (Adam), and from him (Adam) He created his wife [Eve], and from them both He created many men and women and fear Allah through Whom you demand your mutual (rights), and (do not cut the relations of) the wombs (kinship). Surely, Allah is Ever a Watcher over you." (Quran 4:1) and the other Ayah in Surat Al Hashr "O you who believe! Fear Allah and keep your duty to Him. And let every person look to what he has sent forth for the morrow, and fear Allah. Verily, Allah is All-Aware of what you do." (Quran 59:18), a man who gives out Sadaqa (money for charity) out of his dinar, Dirham, garment, bowl of grain, bowl of date-until he said-even with a peace of date. A man from Al Ansar came carrying a very heavy package that his hand was unable to carry. People followed suit until I saw two piles of food and clothes until I witnessed the Messenger's-blessing and peace be upon him-expressing joy. The Messenger-blessing and peace be upon him-said" One who established a good Sunnah (tradition) in Islam shall receive its reward and the reward of one who applied it following his suit, however, this shall not decrease either of their rewards. And one who established an evil Sunnah, shall bear its sin and the sin of one who applied it following his suit, however, this shall not decrease either of their sins" (reported by Muslim).
In this context, we see that the situation which Bou A`zizi handled had been a matter of poverty, dire need, and oppressing. Well, is this how such situations should be handled? Before Muslims grow and act emotional to the extend of following his suit or more to say applying this Sunah, did they refer back to their book, their manual, the Quran. Did any of us ask him/herself if he/she had a role or share of the factors causing this sever deterioration in any Muslim country, and how one may improve in order to change the landscape we are all experiencing? How many among us read the Quran in order to be able to derive explanations and clarifications to the day to day events? The majority actually constantly monitor talk shows, not only this, but even develop their attitudes based on the content therein without conducting a benchmarking exercise against Quran and Sunnah.
Brothers and sisters, let us all be courageous enough to assume the responsibility for developing such landscape, let us not use governments as excuse to our problems. The Ayah indicated in the beginning of this simple word suffices to explain and clarify the general scene.
Allah, Sobhanhu wa Ta`ala Is saying if inhabitants of tows believed, but Allah Did not stop here, but rather succeeded it with and applied piety. Thus, we are all encouraged to enforce this Ayah in his life, motivate his family to do so and also those who are in his circle. It is belief coupled with piety that is capable of solving any problem rather than committing suicide in any form or fashion as means to revolt or object. Let us be more practical and assume responsibility in order to pass this journey safe enough. I shall not elaborate any further specially on the second part of the Ayah which is belying that consequently brings about Allah's punishment. Belying here is not restricted on belying messengers and prophets but extends to include ignoring Quran and Sunnah, failure to enforce them in handling matters and day to day life, denying Allah's bounties and failure to express gratitude, observance and protection of such bounties.
And Allah Is One Who guides and Supports

Prison to the believer |

Bismillah
I had been always pondering upon this hadeeth and it serves as a constant alarm whenever I feel tied down or tired of fighting.
Narrated under the authority of Abu Horairah, Salman Al Faresy and Abdullah Ibn Omar, that the Messenger blessing and peace be upon him said: Dunia (this world) is a prison to the believer and paradise to a Kafir (non believer" (reported by Muslim and Termidhi)
This hadeeth provides deep insight into our life and how we should perceive it. This whole Dunia is not but a prison to the believers who have to constant observe rules, limits, do's and do not's. We must realise we are not here to enjoy ourselves, and behave as we please. But rather we are bound by rules and regulations set forth by the Only Ture Deity. But still we shall feel it is like a prison no matter how we are blessed with Allah's Bounties, i.e wealth, children, positions, power, authority, health, knowledge..etc. All of this shall be nothing compared to the eternal bounties waiting for us in Jannah. Unlike the Kafir who enjoys himself to the ultimate, not thinking about the hereafter because it does not exist in his mind. Thus, this is his Jannah, the only source of joy and concurrently, no matter this kafir endures of hardships in this world shall be like nothing compared to the eternal humiliation in the hereafter.
We as muslims, need to put this hadeeth right in front of our eyes all the time lest we forget that we should be always working towards a more suprior long term goal.
