Why would we need to clearly know the characteristics of the believers???? Because the Messenger Sallah Allah a`lyhee wa sallam says in hadeeth: <div style="font-size:24px;"> <div style="font-size:14px;font-weight:bold;color:rgb(93,128,128);">Narrated Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Beware of the believer's intuition, for indeed he sees with Allah's Light." Then he recited: Surely in this are signs for those who see (15:75). </div></div> حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي الطَّيِّبِ، حَدَّثَنَا مُصْعَبُ بْنُ سَلاَّمٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏"‏ اتَّقُوا فِرَاسَةَ الْمُؤْمِنِ فَإِنَّهُ يَنْظُرُ بِنُورِ اللَّهِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ ‏:‏ ‏<a>(‏ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لآيَاتٍ لِلْمُتَوَسِّمِينَ ‏)</a>‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ إِنَّمَا نَعْرِفُهُ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ فِي تَفْسِيرِ هَذِهِ الآيَةِ ‏:‏ ‏<a>(‏ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لآيَاتٍ لِلْمُتَوَسِّمِينَ ‏)</a>‏ قَالَ لِلْمُتَفَرِّسِينَ ‏.‏ <div style="font-size:13px;color:rgb(8,8,26);text-align:justify;"> <b>Grade</b> : <b>Da'if</b> (Darussalam) English reference : Vol. 1, Book 44, Hadith 3127 Arabic reference : Book 47, Hadith 341 </div> who does not need this? instead of killing yourself to understand this, or know that, or be cautious of this person,..etc. Just work hard on developing and acquiring the characteristics of the believer, Allah Shall Grant you the ability to see through an endowed light from Allah. What more do you want?????

"And ordain for us good in this world, and in the Hereafter. Certainly we have turned unto You." He said: (As to) My Punishment I afflict therewith whom I will and My Mercy embraces all things. That (Mercy) I shall ordain for those who are pious and give Zakah; and those who believe in Our Signs ;* Those who follow the Messenger (Muhammad), the unlettered Prophet whom they find written in the Torah and the Gospel with them, he enjoins upon them that which is virtuous and forbids them that which is evil; he allows them all that is good and forbids for them all that is foul. And he releases them from their burdens and from the shackles that were upon them. So it is those who believe in him, honour him, assist him and follow the light which has been sent down with him, it is they who will be successful." (Quran 7:156-157) 1. Believers are those who follow the Messenger Mohammad salla Allah a`lyhee wa sallam.

Bismillah "And of humankind are some who take (for worship) others besides Allah as rivals (to Allah). They love them as they love Allah. But those who believe, love Allah more (than anything else). If only, those who do wrong could see, when they will see the torment, that all power belongs to Allah and that Allah is Severe in punishment." Quran 2:154)

Bismillah "The <b>true believers are only those</b>, who believe in (the Oneness of) Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad), [/u<b>]and when they are with him on some common matter, they go not away until they have asked his permission. </b> <b>Verily! Those who ask your permission , </b> <b>those are they who (really) believe in Allah and His Messenger. </b> So if they ask your permission for some affairs of theirs, give permission to whom you will of them, and ask Allah for their forgiveness. Truly, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." (Quran 24:62)

Bismillah Insh a Allah turning the light on this thread, those topics are really good exercise. Regarding the word believing, Karbala, we are talking about those who believer according to Ayahs from Quran, If you read the Quran and follow the positions when Allah Described those who believe, it will be very clear that the word refers to those who believe in Allah as follows: "And of humankind are some who take (for worship) others besides Allah as rivals (to Allah). They love them as they love Allah. <b>But those who believe, love Allah more (than anything else). </b>If only, those who do wrong could see, when they will see the torment, that all power belongs to Allah and that Allah is Severe in punishment." (Quran 2: 165) "And when you have divorced women and they have fulfilled the term of their prescribed period, do not prevent them from marrying their (former) husbands, if they mutually agree on reasonable basis. <b>This (instruction) is an admonition for him among you who believes in Allah and the Last Day</b>. That is more virtuous and purer for you. Allah knows and you know not." (Quran 2:232)

Bismillah as salam alykom I can see a very good seed for a new thread, we can follow the adjectives given by Allah to those who believe in Allah the way Allah Commanded and introduce supportive Ayahs and hadeeth. I think there is a need to understand the difference between the Quranic usage of "muslim" and "momin". Muslim as we all know is one who surrenders, a very basic level of faith. Momin is commonly translated into "believer" wich is misleading. For example one can believe in Satan, but he cannot be a "momin" to Satan. A better translation is perhaps "faithful" A Momin is a rank higher than a muslim as illustrated by the Quranic verse: قَالَتِ الْأَعْرَابُ آمَنَّا قُل لَّمْ تُؤْمِنُوا وَلَكِن قُولُوا أَسْلَمْنَا وَلَمَّا يَدْخُلِ الْإِيمَانُ فِي قُلُوبِكُمْ The dwellers of the desert say: We believe. Say: You do not believe but say, We submit; and faith has not yet entered into your hearts; Note when the A'raab or nomadic arabs claimed to be "momin" they were told to refrain and simply claim the status of "muslim".
