Assalaamu 'alaikum I've dedicated an entry to this subject on my blog. You can find it here: http://ummjunayd.info/archives/willwriting_part_two.php You'll find an example of a will which is infact an informationless version of my own will. I hope it helps. Was-salaamu 'alaikum ~ Umm Junayd. |

Asalamalaikum Sadiyah How did your surgery go? Insha'Allah I pray that it was successful and that you are recovering. I don't know much about this "Islamic will" but I do know that here in NZ before you get any serious surgery they make you fill in a form about yourself and one of the questions that you will come across is:" What is your religion" If you end up passing away and even if you have no muslim family here, they'll contact the masjid. The masjid will donate money from the muslim community most likely from the people that come from the dead person's country and than they buy him/her a land that they can burry them in. If the muslims don't pay money to help the dead muslim, the kafirs will burry him, in a nonmuslim graveyard, May Allah subhana'wa'ta'ala protect us from that ameen. |

Assalamu alaikum greeneyezopened, I had the same concern as you. At my masjid (and I am in a small community so it should be easy where you are inshaAllah) I obtained an "Interment Authorization" form. Talk to your imam to get a form like this, it basically states that you are authorizing the Islamic Cemetary (or whatever organization in your community that does burials) to bury you according to the Islamic Sharia. It is a simple statement, I don't know where you are from, but in the U.S. I just had it notorized, gave copies to my family and to my masjid, and I keep the original. It may also be a good idea to give a copy to your doctor or hospital since you are having surgery that you are worried about. InshaAllah I hope your surgery goes well and you will not need this, but it is a good idea to get the authorization anyway as death can come at any time. Hope this helps |

As salaam alaikum... I am new to this board and I have read the "funeral procession" topic which was very beneficial, masha'Allah. I am wondering, insha'Allah, if anyone can guide me to obtaining an Islamic will. I am possibly having surgery soon which is not an easy one and I need to get this done as soon as possible. I have found a will online from the Islamic Society of North America, but I was hoping to find a more general one which would allow me to fill in my local ummah information. If anyone can assist, it would be greatly appreciated. Jazakullahu khairun... Sadiyah |
