Extolling Allah is more excellent than sadaqah, sadaqah is more excellent than fasting, and fasting is a protection from Hell"

I too have heard (from a mufti) that holding a mushaf during nawafil prayers is permissible. If one can read Arabic, even if it is haltingly, then Insha'Allah, we should try to do this.

Ya Rabi! Let my actions adhere to my knowledge of the deen.

Actually, Dan you have touched on a very important point here of reading, listening, typing, posting, attending but not practicing.

I think even if someone's deeds were affected with this hadeeth and for instance started developing the habit of praying extra holding the Quran to read if one is not having enough of memorization, one will not reveal this out of concern for bragging or showing off. I think, this is my humble opinion.

Has anyone's actions been affected by this wonderful hadith?

Seeing the rewards of reciting Qur'an during prayer, think about the rewards for Qiyam al-Layt, and do we still do nothing?

If we have not acted upon any of this and other information, then this is our proof that we deserve the condition we are in.

Remember that we are all told:

I am simply commanded to worship the Lord of this town - He has made it a safe sanctuary - and He possesses all things. I am commanded to be a submitter.

And to recite the Quran. Whoever is guided is guided for his own good, and if they go astray, then say, "I am simply a warner."

And say, "Praise be to GOD; He will show you His proofs, until you recognize them. Your Lord is never unaware of anything you do."[27:91-93]
